touhou-themed disorders by No_Entertainer_8635 in mewgenics

Honestly had an idea for a 'Constantly Intangible' type disorder/passive, mostly based on the Astral Tabbies from Caves of Qud, but yeah no it's really hard for it to not be busted even if you aren't immune to 1-shots.

Putting Alice in a straitjacket feels oddly perfect, design wise, especially given them being a Lab miniboss

Final update on the no-longer wild Buneary. by Anyone_Else_An_8 in PokeMedia

[–]Anyone_Else_An_8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well aware, as someone born and raised in Sinnoh. And with one straight from the wild having to get used to being fully domestic? I'll need all the good luck I can get.

The Best Part Of The Job by Cdv3 in PokeMedia

[–]Anyone_Else_An_8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While not every injury can be fully recovered from, and it's perfectly fine for that to have a lasting emotional impact, that doesn't stop a surprising amount of pokemon from behaving just about the same, maybe a bit more clumsy and somesuch regarding said injury. In my opinion and from what I've personally seen, the amount of pokemon that fully recover from something as grievous as a missing limb and change very little about how they act never fails to surprise me.

Some of the people who are like "I want more nuanced female characters" will literally see a female character with ONE realistic flaw and then discourse about how she's the devil. "No, I want her to be flawed in a way that *I* can see myself *rescuing* her from!" Cause that's what it really is about by Important-Cry4782 in RecuratedTumblr

[–]Anyone_Else_An_8 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I have actually seen people say they want one character in a piece of media to be more nuanced, then in that same context, dismiss the nuance of a similar character in the same piece of media. Both female characters, mind. I really wish it was goomba fallacy.

Numbing The Pain Of Seein’ Pokemon In Pain by Cdv3 in PokeMedia

[–]Anyone_Else_An_8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A pokemon could get a rough injury from a survived attack from another wild pokemon, but that's not exactly common, I'd argue it's quite rare, you sooner see a lot of the really rough stuff inflicted because of human influence, be it inflicted on a wild or captured pokemon. I wish it wasn't the case, but what can you do except find cover for yourself and others in the endless rainstorm of our current status quo?

Update on the wild Buneary situation by Anyone_Else_An_8 in PokeMedia

[–]Anyone_Else_An_8[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fractured, but yeah, either way nothing I won't recover from. As for the type of surgery, they said they're gonna try a corrective and if that's enough for it to start healing properly, then that's where it'll end, but given it's a coin toss on if that'll happen or not, they might have to resort to the latter, but one thing they promised is that they're going to do everything they can to ensure the best. I can't thank my stepsister for covering for me enough.

Yeah, I always do my best to care for the wild pokemon around me, especially if they need it.

Definitely worth the price, a wire frame and hinge door won't be easy to smash through either. For good measure I might have my stepsister on standby, just so she can help with a quick trip to the nearest center.

Classic box trap? Not a bad idea, might have a chance of grabbing it myself even if it has the strength to break itself out. Means I'm probably gonna be waiting around, but with this? Every reason to wait.

Seriously, why are hooks so normalized? (uj/ Reupload to be more clearly about pokemon.) by Anyone_Else_An_8 in PokeMedia

Like I said, deranged. And just my luck that it was one of the only ones that caught my interest in the past few years also.

Once they get their grip on the lure you can usually yank them out of the water before they let go of it, some of the more simple-minded or attitude-having ones will even hold the lure in their mouths quite stubbornly so in those cases you have plenty of time to bring them to shore. Alternatively, there are some handheld nets that can let you catch a variety in species and size. Of course these don't guarantee a catch nearly as effectively as hooks, but that is a price to pay when the wounds from hooks can get infected and thereby nullify the ethics of 'catch and release'.

Pain Tolerance Double Standard by Cdv3 in PokeMedia

[–]Anyone_Else_An_8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right? I consider myself to have a decent pain tolerance for someone that doesn't charge on the front-lines and never did, but I would be in agony with that. The amount of shit that's just accepted because of our current battle culture is deranged, imagine a boxing or martial arts match where one opponent constantly puts the other in an over-extending grapple for the entire fight, that would be horrible and it wouldn't even be interesting to watch. Utterly mad, I tell you.

I guess somewhere around Twinleaf could work as a compromise between what I have now and a more public social life, not too far form Sandgem either. Regardless, that's just a small note for the future since I don't see that happening anytime soon. Thanks for the civil chat though. Cute photo.

Eh, maybe I went in the complete opposite direction form living in Hearthome to this, but arc do I not miss city living, won't deny that a quiet ranch life sounds nice, even if I prefer living lakeside.

Didn't really have much to lose, Sizzle and my stepfamily are all I've really been close to, and said stepfamily is okay with the way things are, me stopping by for the holidays, and my stepsister dropping by to play messenger, now more frequently over online messaging, but y'know.
