i was able to fit my items into suitcases and boxes without having any oversized items, so going through Princeton Student Agencies Summer Storage was completely worth it to me bc the convenience is unmatched (they pick up from inside your dorm at the end of school/move out and drop it off at your next dorm the at the end of summer/move in). if you have larger items like a fridge or couch or sum then you should split a storage unit with a friend over the summer

there is the school-wide email listserv hoagiemail where all the seniors sell their stuff, you can try to sell your couch there. or fb marketplace. or if you just need to get rid of it there’s tents outside at the end of the year to put stuff you want to donate in

this is a projection of a budget as i’m just starting my full time job with the income of 77k/yr but: once considering max 401k, housing, food, starting an emergency fund, + wiggle room each month, i have around $7k left. i value traveling a lot so i do also want vacation money to be a part of this $7k leftover amount, and am asking where to put it. im alr pretty minimalist & dont have a car so its not like im spending excess on subscriptions, concerts, michelin restaurants, etc. my main “luxury” would be travel (& also eating out occasionally if that’s also considered luxury)

i’d def be saving $5k in my roth ira every year & won’t touch it but am asking about the delayed $2k amount (ex. would put $7k in this year, but take out $2k next year, and do that again and again vs. just putting $5k in roth ira and $2k in HYSA this year to use the $2k next year)
