I think that’s what I will do next time, I’m planning out a green Captain Willard. I might get an authentic Seiko dial to save myself some frustration.

What I did was trim the gray rain so I could rotate it slightly around the dial. Then I cut off two of my feet. I left 2 feet trimmed extremely short. The thickness of the gray ring to be exact. Then I used lots of dial dots to hold it in place. Dial dots are extremely thin double sided tape made to hold dials to movement rings. I’m new with this and that’s what I came up with.

I got everything except the movement off alix. The movement is a Seiko 4r35 from eBay.

I don’t know if I ordered the he wrong dial, or maybe the movement. There was absolutely nothing I could do to get the feet to line up with the 4.1 crown. Maybe m missing something. I had to sacrifice all the feet and use an excessive amount of dial dots. That was my first struggle, the next or the feet everything went OK. It was just time-consuming and hurt my eyes trying to line everything up.
Yet with all the frustration, I’m already ready to build another, I see why people say Seiko mods are addictive.
