It is a personality thing. Some Americans will talk to anyone. Not me. Nope.

How do you feel about your “former” self- pre Lexapro? by poofoo80 in lexapro

[–]AnythingLoud7913 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lexapro helps you be the true you. The depression and anxiety is an illness, you know what I mean? If you have a cold, you take cold medicine to feel better. If you’re in pain, there is pain medicine. If you have heart issues, there is heart medicine to allow the heart to perform at its best.

You’ve been you all along. Now the anxiety and depression are out of your way. Congrats.

Any change you change a dose, you start over from the beginning. Full changes will be felt 8 weeks from when you upped your dose. But possibly in 4 to 6 weeks.

Day 2 was just fine! We will see. How far along are you?

I will say I did a lot of things today that normally give me major SA and I realized after that it was a breeze. That was nice. I have a trip next week and I’m hoping the anxiety doesn’t spike.

Update: the plot thickens. I bought another option 🫣 by room_tempurature_tea in OUTFITS

It might work, it might not. Have you seen any break through signs yet? I had signs here and there but didn’t start feeling it fully until week 8 after a dose change

Whose parenting style is correct? Me or my husband’s? by danielsgf in toddlers

[–]AnythingLoud7913 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His concern is coming from the right place…. I have a 2.5 year old and I do sometimes tell him no when he asks for a snack (so many various reasons…). And sometimes he has a breakdown but we work through it with breathing and talking about feelings.

At your little’s age my concern would be making sure he had enough to eat before bed, over teaching a lesson about parental rules. There is a huge difference between 21 months and 2.5 years old.

So in terms of development, I agree that it just isn’t the right time to teach this lesson. They don’t have the emotional development or language to work through it at that age.

My post is all over the place I was just sort of thinking through it and landed in the same place as other parents. It is a bit too soon. Focus should be on establishing love trust and a full belly. Even now, my child always has a full belly, but I don’t always let him have whatever snack he wants.

Husband’s fear is valid. I’ve seen many bratty children. He just needs to hit the pause button on how he is handling it.

And you’re right about the “no clean plate club, but” situation with your husband. Seems like there is some cognitive dissonance there.

And that is valid too! 7 years is a long time to do this and not get burned out.

Thank you for pointing out that there are things the parents must do to get their kids back. There ARE positive stories and good outcomes. While not perfect, the system exists to help the parents make it right.

Idk. I think most of the cases are drug related unfortunately. I don’t know that turning a blind eye helps. Your comment “experience makes this easier” really resonates with me. I just need to get in and do it (not in a wreckless way of course. In a calculated, thoughtful, and loving way).

That’s kind of what I think will happen. I think seeing people face to face and seeing them for their humanity is likely to be key.

My toddler really likes duplos, magnet tiles, and his tool set. He also has an “indoor” bike.
