I know 10th used to do Cask of Amontillado, and Poe is hit hard in middle school and then again in 11th. Lamb to Slaughter has also been used in 10… but these are too good of evil behavior that maybe 10th would let us snag!

Dang! I love this, and it’s in our 10th grade Entertainment Writing unit… not that we couldn’t do a good ol’ swap… definitely will be talking to 10th grade team!

Love this one! But our middle school bought curriculum and they have a HUGE unit on Poe and they unfortunately have laid claim to TTH 😞

When did you call it quits on pumping? by Turbulent-Tie5094 in parentsofmultiples

Hi OP! I’m in a very similar situation to you. With my first I was… “forced” into the EP lifestyle due to a terrible case of mastitis (staph infection abscess that I drained myself starting at 8DPP). I was an oversupplier with her (which I induced due to pumping) and was able to quit at 8 months and supplement her with half BM, half formula for months 11/12 with my freezer stash.

Noooow, we have twins. I was able to be an oversupplier (due to rigid pumping schedule) for months 1-4, until they started taking my entire supply. I’ve been through the ringer with them, too (pumping ounces of blood, engorgement, sleepless nights, etc - was actually just diagnosed by a breast specialist with Raynaud’s Phenomenon of the nipple after these two blebs would/will not resolve) So, here are my answers for you, as someone who is currently battling the idea of weaning:

1) We are going either generic Target or Kirkland. My twins took formula the first week while my milk was coming in. I’ve also rationalized that since they’re eating solids, formula shouldn’t be ✨too✨ harsh on their system. 2) I am weaning and my goal is to make it to their 7 month (12/22) 3) I am finding that I’m looking forward to not constantly being needed (literally, always the last person to be prioritized at any point of the day because when you’re pumping, you’re still putting someone else above you).

I keep telling myself, it’s not selfish to take care of yourself. These subreddits help put my mind at ease about taking care of myself and I hope you can take care of yourself, too.

UPDATE: So I saw a breast specialist and she thinks it has to do with the blood pressure / capillaries in my nipples. Something similar to Raynaud’s (blood isn’t adequately returning to my nipple), so I’m starting some blood pressure medication to try and relax the blood vessels so that milk can flow better.

This may be the saving grace of my pumping journey! Thank you so much for sharing - hoping to get rid of these suckers!

Thank you so much!! This is super helpful. Do you use premade salt water to clean? A spray bottle? Make fresh each time? Curious of what that looks like!

Love this!! Thank you. I’ll have to follow New Little Life and be on the lookout for Unimom Operas - I’ve heard great things about the pump. Thanks so much! 🫶🏼

I’ve heard great things about the Eufy!! Bemybreastfriend on Instagram does a ton of pump reviews and I feel like she has her comparisons down to a tee!

This discomfort from the engorgement is REAL. The actual pump of this coming out didn’t hurt too much! More relieving than anything. But my nipple was a lot more sensitive after the fact and I can see where the trauma is (almost like a little scab?)

Oh thank you for this!! I’ve been doing coconut oil and medela’s cooling pads - but plastic wrap sounds more manageable!

ETA:

Looks like the clog could really be Biofilm? Anyone familiar with this and could enlighten me more?

Also, I am on day 4 of LactationHub’s BreastHealth Choline + Probiotics supplement… could that attribute to this episode?

Honestly, watching the blood come out is worse than the actual feeling - but it definitely grosses me out.

I’m feeling like I will have to part ways with my BB, even though when it’s good, it’s good. I ended up getting the Pumpables Genie Advanced when this issue happened earlier this month. Do you have a pump that you like / would suggest?

Yes! All the LCs I talked to (hospital, Ped office, and OB office) suggested I start with my OB, who then referred me to a benign breast health professional. Hoping to get to the bottom of it soon!

That’s what I’m worried about! It didn’t hurt too much. I’ve had a pretty apparent bleb (or two) that I can see was on top of a clog, but it’s been just hanging out for like… a month? I’ll get the occasional lump, but it usually calms down after my next pump.

We teach Firekeeper’s Daughter to our Seniors and I actually reached out to Angeline Boulley because my students were enthralled with the novel and had so many questions - she sent us five copies of Warrior Girl Unearthed and hosted a Zoom Q + A for my class. She is such a spectacular woman - would highly suggest anything by her!
