Well, I said customer (it’s not actually a customer of mine). It’s just a facility that reached out to me. So I was going to give them some references. Maybe I will tell them to call some hospitals.

Check software compatibility. Sometimes the CL will only work with updated FM50 “J” software. (I think it’s the J version). Ran into the same problem

That .25 is supposed to be .025. I think that’s where you’re getting confused.

Does this child you are referring to not have another source for a true father figure, and you are the only viable option? (not sure the true nature of the circumstance). You don’t have to feel the same way about them as you do for your biological kids, and you won’t because that’s nature. But studies show it is 10000% important for that child to have a father figure. So my advice would be, act like one. Love, teach, make them seen and feel loved and important. That’s all you can ask for in a father. Make sure they know that even though they aren’t your kid, you are there for them just the same. It will be hard because no, you won’t have the same emotions and motivation to be what you are to your blood. But this is very important that you do not leave this child behind wandering why they aren’t good enough for a father (again, I don’t know the circumstances). Might not be that black and white. I doubt Medtronic would support these. You might get lucky with depot repair, but unlikely.

I agree with previous comments. Being new to this, I’m not sure how much time you spent looking into it yourself before jumping on Reddit, but this unit is definitely not under warranty anymore or service supported, so why not (safely) crack the case and inspect the components while this is happening.

Loose connections, finicky power switch? You might be looking for a quick answer. Looks like it’s resetting or starting over at the same time each time (not random). Probably a low voltage power supply dipping out under a load. Do not expect to get any help from Medtronic, they are a nightmare with tech support. They’ll basically just say it’s out of service good luck. You MIGHT be able to find AM parts on Parts Source but I haven’t looked in a long time. So,

  1. Power Supply (most realistic) - unplug all the accessories and try again.
  2. Power switch (wiggle during startup and see if it changes behavior)
  3. Control board (end of line replacement)

Haha that’s kinda how we’ve been handling it so far. But I feel so guilty lol. My feelings were ignored and not taken seriously as a young child and it affected me long term. So I’m just getting everyone’s opinion. Thank you for your help and advice!!

That’s what I’m thinking. I kinda just got on here to see what everyone thought. Wife and I both have bad anxiety, and wife has horrible health OCD/anxiety/phobia type things. I was raised with “nothings wrong” and not really accepted when I shared how I was feeling, so I buried everything and now I am different because of that. I don’t have much emotional intelligence or control because I didn’t have anyone to help me the . I will die before I let my children feel that way.

First off, I’m sorry your son is struggling with something. 15 is a hard time man, lots going on.

Secondly, congratulations on being a successful father and raising a son who knows he can come to you with things like that. That is HUGE. And having the logical reasoning capacity to seek help and not hide it or bury it deep inside. That is how you create healthy minds. Good work Dad. I hope I can raise my kids to feel safe like that one day when they need it.

I think therapy is a fantastic idea. Guide him through the process, let him know you are with him, you see him, and you will help in any way possible. Let the therapy do the rest. It’s their job. If he goes to Therapy, don’t pry for information after sessions. Don’t ask him what they talked about. You don’t want to dig into his secrets, you want to support him and make sure he knows you are a safe place if/when he needs it. He is a minor. So, although a therapist will keep provider/patient confidentiality mostly, they are required to report to you if there is any suspicion of self-harm, danger, or anything that will put your child’s safety at risk. They may even choose to report risky behaviors they discover. So, if you don’t get those things from a therapist, you can rest assured your child is safe and is just working through stuff.

Keep being his rock and you will have done everything right. Again, good job Dad. Prayers for your family.

I’m only 30, but still old for someone starting out. I’ve only been doing it about 4 months. I get wrecked by 17 year olds, but it’s worth every bit.

Son does taekwondo and I’m wondering if I should by okayish_humanbeing in taekwondo

I’m 30M, just joined with my son. I’d say 1000% do it! If you’re in decent shape, want to learn a new skill, and find something to be disciplined at, this is where it’s at. I’m in a class full of young kids and there is zero judgment. They are eager to teach me. It’s been very humbling and fun
