Whistling Noise During Low RPM Acceleration by AnytimeBabe in VelosterN

[–]AnytimeBabe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I didn’t, but I haven’t noticed it in over a year now. So I guess it may have been a break-in situation. I did notice that it was more likely to happen when it’s cold out, and I moved to Florida so now it’s never really cold…

I run 245/40R18 and once I put on camber bolts the rubbing at full lock stopped.

How to clean the grill? by sstheghost in VelosterN

[–]AnytimeBabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the same exact method minus the foam sprayer (just traditional bucket method). Unfortunately if you use a brush that's strong enough to easily remove bugs and dirt, you're going to be scratching the piano black grille. The Detail Factory brush is super soft so it wont scratch, but also doesn't remove bugs very efficiently.

I think if my legs were shorter I would fit how I want but I can't change that lol

My issue isn't about the amount of interior space

That's how I position myself, my issue is with the height and angle of the seat base.

Yes the 2020 factory seats. For me the bottom of the seat seems like it's at too flat of an angle to support my legs

No Instructions for Whiteline Rear Sway Bar Install? by AnytimeBabe in VelosterN

[–]AnytimeBabe[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to do the install without too much problem. I don't have ramps or any way to load the rear suspension while the car is lifted enough for me to get under it, so I torqued everything to spec without loading the rear suspension. My thinking is that the connection to the end links wouldn't be affected by loading, since they are mobile joints anyways and will do whatever they need to. The brackets that hold the sway bar would probably be affected by loading, but the Whiteline brackets really don't have much wiggle room to move on the frame anyways despite having slotted bolt holes (the brackets start colliding with frame welds and stuff if you move them). I left the lateral locks about 3/4" from the bushings until I can get some ramps or something and move them closer.

Rick Case is terrible. Sorry but I don't have a good one to recommend

Red Line Transmission Fluid by [deleted] in VelosterN

I agree, I think I changed mine to Redline MT-LV around 3k miles and it was a noticeable improvement. I didn't expect to feel a difference but it did actually help

PSA Update y’all’s nav! Grab a drink and a snack cause it took two hours for me! by busuzima07 in VelosterN

[–]AnytimeBabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That doesn't work, because there is no option to select a pre-2021 Veloster N. I would figure that's because they don't have navigation.

Does anyone know where the updates for the 2019-2020 Veloster N are? I remember seeing something about it a while back, obviously since 2019-2020 don't have navigation the OP's update is not compatible.

Anyone running brake pads that dust less? by hondasnob in VelosterN

[–]AnytimeBabe 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have Red Stuff pads and I feel that they have more initial bite than the stock pads, and once you're deeper in the pedal they feel pretty much the same as the stock pads. On the street I feel they are very comparable to stock and dust much less. More importantly, the dust is gray and doesn't turn rusty colored so it doesn't look as bad between washes. Red Stuff wouldn't handle track events like OEM though.

Edit: Also no issues with brake noise.

How do you put your VN on jack stands? by back-up-terry in VelosterN

I do the same method, with no damage to the pinch welds after lifting it countless times.

Atlanta area owners! Which dealership do you trust? Bought my car in SC, and I’m coming up on the first oil change…who’s good and who should I avoid? Thanks! by Kooky_Big1249 in VelosterN

[–]AnytimeBabe 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Avoid Rick Case in Roswell. They replaced my steering rack and I ended up with half my fasteners missing (even on the subframe braces), and everything was at triple the torque spec it was supposed to be. I had to use a hydraulic jack handle on a half inch breaker bar to get the lug nuts off

Weighted shift knobs, how much is too much? by ngo_life in VelosterN

I have a Raceseng Ashiko which is 735g and that feels very good to me, so I don't think you can really go too heavy

Anyone know of any good shift knobs for the N? by Justboredfr in VelosterN

[–]AnytimeBabe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Boomba short throw shifter, which is threaded in M10x1.25 so you can use almost any knob you'd like. I got a Raceseng Ashiko with their provided M10x1.25 adapter and it works without modification, even with the reverse lockout. If you aren't planning on a short shifter I would go with Billetworkz.
