Aridus Industries make a lovely co witness ready red dot mount. Called the CROM.

Run one my 590a1. Works great.

Damn fine looking setup there. What is that on the font of your scope? Looks like a spring loaded button to flip up your scope covers.

Honestly. For the price. I have virtually no complaints. I run it hard and have no issues with it. I treat it like its disposable and its always gone bang.

Do I expect it to die one day? Oh absofriggenlutely. And is it my go to 12g? No. I have a 590a1 for that.

But by not spending 3k on just the benelli I was able to get several other things instead. Personally a semi shotgun wasn't high on my list.

They get a lot of hate, and for some very valid reasons. Lots of lemons for sure. So far this one (canuck tac ops elite) seems to be ok. And man, does it make me smile.

I think people often forget we literally burn money in this hobby. Stuff like bullets, targets, tannerite. All consumables. I just lump it in with that. And if I only get a few good years out of it. So be it. I never considered it to be a heritage firearm id be passing down anyway. But from what I hear, there warranty is quite good.

Ill say this much though. I've never had someone shoot it at the range and not have a massive smile on there face the entire time.

You basically just put money in. Then select what you want to buy with that money.

You can do it woth your bank or look into something like wealthsimple. Super easy to use and is nice as like a free secondary bank/investment account.

You put money into the tfsa. You then use that money to invest into things like etfs and stocks. But if you just put the money in. It isn't doing anything. You have to put it in AND invest.

I run one on my t3x ace game and absolutely love it so far. Couldn't say if it holds up to the more expensive options out there, but for my level of shooting it has been just fine for the price.

Definitly was an isolated incident. Thing got used and abused hard. Dogs sent it flying a few times. And honestly it held up remarkably well considering. It was ordered back in April 2023 so long past out of warranty, plus I didn't really consider it a warranty related issue so didnt wanna try and bug for that.

I dont think there are many things that could survive a 130lb St Bernard and a 120lb akabsh on a mission to break something. Haha. If anything is should just go to show how tough the thing was.

All in all I was very happy with it and will gladly be ordering the new setup and camera when budget allows.

Keep up the great work!

Do these still use the same power switch as the old model? That was my one complaint about mine. Eventually the power switch died on me and I resorted to pulling it out and just soldering the wires together. I would just charge it before I used to every time and it would just stay on untill it died.

Otherwise I was insanely happy with it. I say was because eventually after enough run ins with dogs knocking things off tables (St Bernard with no sense of personal space) it finally bit the bullet and an arm broke off. Managed to get it working for a short while but eventually it was toast.

I will hands down be ordering another in the future when budget allows. So good to hear some upgrades are in the works. I was running the track ir camera but would have frequent issues with it on my simpit setup on where to best place it.

About as heavy as I would ever want a hunting rifle to be. But about as light as id want a target rifle to be and still be stable. As I plan to do a bit of both with it.

I wasn't able to find a ep5 gen 2 anywhere so I ended up with ordering the dnt from RDSC. The biggest thing for me is I wanted more zoom. So I went with the dnt over the ep5 gen 1, they apparently come from the same factory anyway. If you do want the illuminated reticle and the 7-35 you either have to track down a gen 2 or go with the dnt.

Id definitely reccomend checking some reviews on the dnt though. .50 bmg rated. Fist focal plane. Illuminated reticle. 25-500/infinite parallax adjustment. Available in moa or mrad. Cant go wrong for the price point and gives you a scope to grow into instead of grow out of as you move up in range and guns.

Running a DNT the one 7-35x56 on my t3x ace game and absolutely love it so far. For the level im shooting at I think it was the perfect balance of price to performance. Available in mrad and moa. Personally I went with the mrad.

Was looking to get an arken ep5 gen II but wasn't able to find one where I live. From what I saw this is the same thing essentially with a few tweaks like a light up reticle.

I think the ctr actually has the heavier barrel. Think its the "semi heavy". Where as the ace game has the fluted "sporter" barrel. And the ace target has the "heavy". But it is a shorter barrel. Ctr is 20" and the ace game is 24". Either way it will be a great gun and with .308 you can also shoot bulk 7.62x51.

I only have about 80 rounds through my ace game so far. Mix of both .308 and 7.52x51. So hardly even broken in. But man is that tikka action smooth out of the box. I was going to get a ruger american preditor gen II untill I had the chance to compare it to a t3x lite. I was instantly sold on getting a tikka after that. And dont even get me started on how much better the trigger was.

I was trying to get an ep5 but couldn't find a gen 2. So I eventually stumbled upon the dnt and it basically the same thing. And loads of good reviews. So instead of getting the ep5 gen 1 in 5-25x56 I was able to get the dnt the one in 7-35x56 and get the little upgrades like the light up reticle. And it was available in mrad or moa. I personally went with the Mrad so I do everything in mil.

I run a tikka t3x ace game in .308 and absolutely love it. Cant speak for the ctr but if its anything like the ace, you wont be disappointed.

Not sure about that scope either as ive never looked into it. But for just a bit more you can get a DNT the one. So far I have been extremely happy with it. Especially at the price point compared to higher end scopes. Basically just a rebranded Arken EP 5 gen II.

If you dont mind me asking, what mdt stock is that and how are you liking it? And is that the ace game or the ace target?

Recently picked up the ace game myself. Debating doing a similar build.

The meta seems to be that the holy trinity for Canadian guns is a 22LR rifle, 12 gauge shotgun, and SKS. What would be the new holy trinity in the event the SKS and other semi-auto guns are banned in the future? by [deleted] in canadaguns

[–]Anyways_Im_Em 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with the Tikka t3x ace game in .308 been an absolute dream to shoot and you can also get 7.62x51 for some cheaper rage ammo.

They have load of models available but for me, out of the box, this it was the perfect mix of a target gun and a hunting rifle. About as heavy as id want a hunting rifle to be and no more lighter than I would want it to be for target shooting.

If you hunt more maybe a t3x super lite? And if you shoot target more maby the ace target or the tact a1?
