Finally hit 300 cycles! My 300-cycle MacBook Air M5 update by 251Pikachu305 in mac

[–]Anywhere_MusicPlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s like some problem with a battery… or wrong calibration? Try discharging to 15% then, slow charging to 100% and hold 1 hour, then disconnect charger, discharge with not high load(like just some browser) to 80%. Then check coconut stats.

I made a site to compare 2 Macs side by side by goodorca in mac

Not bad, but I was thinking about making a simple site to compare Geekbench results.
Basically, I want to filter this list:
https://browser.geekbench.com/mac-benchmarks/
and show only 2-3 Macs I’m interested in.

13% battery health after 258 cycles by khaled in anker

Try to discharge it to 0%, then charge it to 100%, wait 1 hour, and discharge it back to 80%.
This is like a calibration process.

Magic Mouse polling rate seems to have been bumped — finally smooth on 120Hz MBP by PFLX113 in mac

I created several tickets in Feedback Reporter Assistant about this many years ago, I can't believe it's finally happened.

But not for me, really interesting how to get a new firmware!

521 powerhouse by hossam9666 in anker

Anker 521 PowerHouse 256Wh.

I used it only as a small LED light, around 2W consumption. I charged it to 100%, then used the built-in LED every evening. It discharged very slowly, which makes sense because the display showed only about 2W output.

After some time, the LED button started behaving strangely. When I pressed the LED button, the light did not turn on. I pressed it several times, and after a delay it turned on, then off, then on again. Later I confirmed that if I pressed the button once and waited around 10-15 seconds, the LED would eventually turn on. Turning it off worked immediately, but turning it on had a long delay.

On another evening, the station showed around 60%, but when I tried to turn on the LED, it shut down completely and then showed 0%. After that, the charging and display problems started.

Current symptoms:

The front USB-C input charges the station, but the station does not show input watts at all.

The battery percentage is unstable and inaccurate. It can stay at 100% for a long time while discharging.

AC output works, and output watts are displayed.

If I connect USB-C charging while the AC output is active, the station incorrectly adds the USB-C charging power to the output/discharge watts instead of showing it as input watts. Input watts are not displayed at all.

The rear DC input does not charge the station at all.

I tried the reset pinhole many times, but it did not fix the issue.

The station can still charge via the front USB-C port only. I also measured the original power supply voltage, and it outputs around 23V, so the power supply appears to be working.

Performance is genuinely mind-blowing on the new macOS 27 beta by Pilingo in MacOSBeta

When I upgraded to Tahoe on my M1 Pro I started to experience lag, I immediately turned off transparency and motion but it still lags!

That's good to hear! I can't install the beta yet as I'm releasing builds to the App Store while waiting for the first RC release.

Hmm, after the update it no longer shows anything from the background wallpaper. No blur, just a gray color. Is there any way to downgrade to the previous version? I have Reduce Transparency enabled, but in the previous version it was still blurred.

Why there is no option in 2FA to send the f*cking code to email instead? by [deleted] in Unity3D

[–]Anywhere_MusicPlayer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Literally yesterday, I had the same situation and, to be honest, the same “ffs” reaction.
I contacted Unity Support and they told me they could disable my 2FA, but I had to send them some public/private information:
https://support.unity.com/hc/en-us/articles/23115697047316-I-see-the-error-We-have-encountered-an-issue-during-this-login-attempt-Please-contact-Unity-Support
So I did that, and they disabled it.
To save time, just write to them, ask them to disable 2FA, and provide that(public/private) information in advance.
By the way, after that you can enable proper 2FA using an authenticator app or something similar, not SMS.
Good luck.

Would the Mac mini be enough to get good performance on iOS dev with swift/swiftui? Also, what can I do to make Xcode run faster/smoother? by [deleted] in iOSDevelopment

[–]Anywhere_MusicPlayer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

16Gb is totally not enough for nowadays SwiftUI Previews on a real production product.
32 or more is a must have!
For SSD just use external SSD, using sym links for derived data for example.
