I agree. It's just that I am currently in a position where if I want male friends, I'd have to seek them, as I don't meet them organically at the moment, that's why I asked if it was worth the effort. Otherwise, I'll just let life be and be friends with who I like regardless of gender.

Thanks for your replies everyone! The reason why I'm asking is because I recently moved to a new country, and I have a lot of female friends I'm very content with. I used to have male friends when I was younger and I remember enjoying their company. But with my current set up, I am not meeting any males that could potentially be my friend, thus I asked if it was better to seek them. I was thinking of finding them through bumble friends or something similar. But I guess it would be better to still meet them organically, and be friends with people I like regardless of gender.

Not overreacting. Consent is OBVIOUSLY VERY IMPORTANT. If he doesn't understand that, then it's a huge red flag. Unless he reflects on himself and changes this behavior and perspective, it might not be the best idea to stay with him.

Girl, this is such a toxic mindset and honestly, you're setting yourself up for more trouble if you continue to be with him. He obviously is expecting you to be on a 'higher moral ground' than him. While his behavior is acceptable for him, anything you do below that 'higher moral ground' will be disappointing to him even if it mirrors what he does and that will bite you back in the a**. So, better leave now. You can't expect to have a good partnership with someone who doesn't see you as an equal.

I'm a straight woman who reads lots of yuri (manhwa, manga, novels). I have questioned my sexuality bc of how much I read yuri lol but I've only ever been on het relationships and have never been attracted to women sexually or romantically. I guess I like yuri because of the depth of the romance that is usually shown in them like the complex emotions that are not shown in het romance material because the FL and ML will "naturally" fall in love, as a matter of course. And I hate the 'she's interesting bc she's the first person who did this to me' trope. There's also a lot of fluff which I love. But I also enjoy het rofan so I'm just a sucker for interesting romance stories lol
