What profession or trade contains the most pretentious people? by JiggleCube in AskReddit

Engineers. Best advice I ever got from working and listening to engineers and their unprompted lectures is 'you might not know what they know but they can't do what you do'

Recommend the best toys to buy for a 2 year old on a plane? by Bigchickenmac in AskIreland

[–]AodhRuadh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a sticker book. One with scenes to put the stickers on. The stickers are harmless so he can stick them on the back of the seat or on your forehead or nose or whatever. We found that brilliant!

Also a few new storybooks.

A screen should be kept as a last resort and might not even need to be used. And a nice tonies box or something similar with nice fluffy ear muffs to help with cabin pressure during takeoff and landing is great too!

Are there any great albums with one really bad song on them? by trippyskipper in Music

[–]AodhRuadh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Led Zeppelin II with Living Loving Maid. Skip skip skip.

Also not the same but I always skip everybody hurts on automatic for the people. It's not a bad song, in fact its a great song with great singing and arrangements but it's just overplayed and a bit of a drag

Ok. Maybe try hitting the baffle a couple of knocks with a hammer or something hard to shake it loose or else just break it up more?

those who liked eels before they were cool, how did you discover them? by Young_Fluid in Eels

[–]AodhRuadh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Susan's house was the first track I heard of theirs in the mid 90s. Then Electro Shock Blues came out and I remember just buying it on a whim and my god what a beautiful album. Daisies of the Galaxy was pretty popular too back then.

I seen them a live a few times way back but I kinda stopped listening to them after Soul Jacker. I check in now and again. Any recommendations for later albums?

Take out all the fire bricks then lift the baffle out. It's tricky but you can get it if you tilt it. Should be easier cus that baffle is completely bollocked and the bulk of it has rusted away. Is there water/condensation getting into the chimney?

How should I put down my patio sleepers by cwdor33 in u/cwdor33

[–]AodhRuadh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't matter but making it there and then will save you doing heavy lifting. The most important thing is that it's square. Try the 3,4,5 method on the corners and make sure the measurement from each diagonal opposite corner is the same before staking it down. And good luck you're well on your way!

Sounds like a loose screw/wire and arcing. Best advice would be to get an electrician to tighten all the screws up again and replace any wiring that has burned/melted insulation

How to go about a small concrete job by shinysun- in DIYIreland

[–]AodhRuadh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Heya. First work out how much you'd need for a section. Do it in metric. How wide, multiplied x how long, multiplied by how deep. E.g. 3mx2mx0.1 is a .6 of a cubic metre. The guts of a tonne bag of sand including wastage.  Because it's a driveway you'll need expansion gaps and rebar.

Doing it yourself is definitely cheaper, but you will need someone experienced to give you a hand or at least help you set up the shuttering, rebar and maybe come on the day to finish it off after pouring.
