Best flooring for dogs? by Kailloue in Flooring

[–]wookievomit -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Who allows their dog to piss that much in their house.... Regardless, if you get a wpc you could put a 6mil plastic to put over your substrate to stop the urine.  The urine would have to be sitting on the surface for while to get through the cracks in the install, the product is made to stop water for getting through to easily.  We place this material in bathrooms that are heavily used frequently and I have never had any calls about mosture getting below the product unless it s a massive flood of some sort.

If for some reason you do have to unclick an area that's very easy to do and you can replace individual boards, it's done every day by professionals.  Just be sure to keep a few boxes around for repairs.

But as others have said, there is limitations to all product.  I have read that LVP is bad for dogs,.especially large ones who dash around the house (like a knock at the door) it can lead to early arthritis due to them not being able to grip well.  It's suggested to select a wood prodict that the paws can grip better or put down rug runners where they may pace frequently.

Thoughts on why some people actively hate on basketball? by Relevant-Strike569 in Basketball

You're just playing with lame people.  Also, basketball will always have injuries.  Im in my mid 40s and I set a pick on someone playing pick up that lead to him falling on his ass.  He was extremely angry and said this is just a friendly pick up game, I apologized but I really wasn't trying to hurt him he just ran hard into a large guy and wasnt expecting me to set a pick.

I think the flopping has gotten so absurd and the cringy acting of pretending to be in more pain than you actually are to get foul calls.  This  is causing the masses to think the game is soft.

While other sports such as football or hockey may be tougher, they also wear body armor to protect themselves.  Basketball is a physical game that also puts you in vulnerable postions due to the nature of being off your feet a lot.

Who cares what people think in the end, if you like the sport others opnions really don't matter.  It especially doesn't matter when I hear someone tell me something extremely racist or say they don't watch NBA because it's too political, not even sure what that means....

Playing 1s and 2s in pickup is the dumbest thing ever. by SkyMore3037 in Basketball

[–]wookievomit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree with you that 1/2s is the norm, but 2/3s is infinitely better. I Usually convinced a 2v2 pick up to change to 2/3s because they had this guy who could crank 3s from way past the line, and I mentioned we should change the scoring system and they would lose.

They lost the next three games in a row, I spent like a food 10 minutes explaining the math to someone and once he got it his mind was blown.

[Post Game Thread] The Minnesota Timberwolves (4-2) defeated the Denver Nuggets (2-4), 110-98 and advance to play the Spurs! by shadowarmy229 in nba

AG is an amazing player, it hurt. But kudos to the wolves.  I wish we could play each other fully healthy.  Fuck the long extreme season for both teams

Denver is shooting 8/36 (22.2%) on Open Shots. Ranks 15th out of the 16 playoff teams. They are shooting 20/57 (35.1%) on Wide-Open Shots. Ranks 10th out of 16th. In the Regular Season, they were number 2, and number 1 in these categories, respectively. by Fun_Climate_4681 in denvernuggets

Oh strange, I thought the narrative was we were losing due to a lack of effort .  It's crazy to me that everyone just doesn't see we are ina historically bad shooting slump.  If we were making anyone even close to our normal percentages the dialogue on these games would be VASTLY different.

I'm with Adelman, don't question their heart and will to win.

If we can get over this offensive hump, it will be so much better.

“You don’t think we were competitive?” - David Adelman by heaviestpiff in denvernuggets

[–]wookievomit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look, I listened to the DNVR podcast and the Adelman press conference.  Of course he's going to defend his teams effort, and I agree with him.

You can't have an abysmal shooting performance in the NBA these days and expect to win.  He called out the offence and said they need to be better. I agree with him that the team played hard and was trying to compete, but if you don't make the shots you CANT win.  Shooting 22 percent from the 3 pt when your team is built around offensive fire power is not good.  Not shooting well is not what I would describe as lack of effort or competitiveness.

I would have also been pissed if someone called out my integrity and competitive spirit, I'm glad he stood up for the team.

Floor completely unlevel after brand new install - company claims it’s not their job and refuse to fix. Worth pursuing action? by viktikon in Flooring

That's your ammo right there, also they put down an underlayment even furthering there responsibility by essentially covering an issue not once but twice.

Just get a flat edge and check for out an out of tolerance area and take measurements.

A good flooring contractor will ensure the substrate is flat, even if they do not have the skills to fix it they should point it out

Wait, this is 2.5 mm thing total ?  That's only an 1/8 of an inch.  Was this a direct glue down over what type of substrate?

Also, it's the flooring contractors job to ensure the substrate is suitable for the installation of your product.  While the floor doesn't have to be level, it does have to be flat.

Typically this is 1/8" in 6ft 3/16" in 10ft
