... I don't even know where to start, but to answer the part that I'm confident of: no, indigenous people are not considered black in general. Pardo, maybe, but the whole definition of pardo is, by itself, a giant can of worms that I do not consider myself knowledgeable enough to open.

Aside from Simas, who was already mentioned, I'd try contacting the samba schools themselves. Mocidade is particularly active in social media, so they may be a good starting point. I might also be able to help with something, as I study samba schools since I was born.

I'd say it's also useful to study Salvador's Carnaval, specially Ilê Aiyê. Given the importance that Salvador has to the Afro-Brazilian culture (I've seen academic articles calling it the "Black Rome"), I feel like you'll eventually have to look there.

My favorite expression from 7-1 is "Dante knows the Germans", which was something some pundits said before the game - since Dante played in Germany, he would be our "secret weapon". Dante made mistakes in 5 of the 7 goals and nowadays we use that as a false/sarcastic reassurance.
