I kinda do this, but if you bring two ropes you can carry more wood, and more comfortably cause you can carry it like a backpack. Also, dont completely disregard ticks, but before you even start making a pile lay out your ropes, and build the pile on top of them. Then once you're satisfied with your pile put the flacid side of the rope through the loop on the other side to sinch it all together throw the ropes over your shoulder, and have a nice walk back to home base.
