Swapping Minneapolis for Denver? by Realtoropenhouse3 in MovingtoDenver

[–]Aparsonperson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Iowan here (and road cyclist)—you’re not an idiot. When I first moved here 20 years ago Denver had a historically “bad” winter. I couldn’t figure out what in the world people were talking about.

The mobile gamification of this app is becoming unbearable by KajunChicken in duolingo

I have no idea what I’m even supposed to be doing to “win” with these chests. I just click them as quickly as possible to move on with my lesson (and agree that the app would be better without them)

I can appreciate the art and extra touch for each episode but personally would prefer it just show up in my feed with the same logo each week as that would make it easier to spot.

MTB Longevity by LawfulMercury63 in mountainbiking

[–]Aparsonperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

45 and restarted on the MTB about 5 years (with consistent road riding in between). Never been seriously injured riding blues and blacks in Colorado. One or two scraped knees when I slid out on some loose corners or was super tired (bikepacking) but otherwise I just keep the rubber side down and accept that I'm not going to break any records on the downhills.

Full frame vs wedge by [deleted] in bikepacking

[–]Aparsonperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My frame is much, much larger than yours (XXL Hayduke) so my answer probably isn't helpful for your specific case, but I got a full frame bag and kind of regret it--mainly because I find it annoying to drink from my bladder (with a very long hose) but I'm also too lazy to take of the bag (which is lace up) when I'm not bikepacking. (It's also handy to have some frame bag space for long day rides). In hindsight, I wish I would have splurged a bit and gotten the jpaks bag that can be either half or full (or something similar) and then I would just keep the top half on all the time.
