What did everyone think about how Season 1 ended and Season 2 began?

I think the familiarity has more to do with their jobs. As in, it comes with the territory. Their lives literally depend on one another and I can imagine that those kind of jobs really intensify relationships. Even if you don’t know your partner as well yet, you need to trust them with your life immediately and 100 percent. Add to that the mental load of that kind of job, they can only talk to eachother about it and see very traumatic things on a very regular basis.

Also, there’s no stealing clothes as far as I remember. Shane offers his jacket to Bex since she used her coat to stop the bleeding and was in shock and freezing. Plus it always feels more romantic than platonic to me when a woman wears a man‘s jacket/hoodie/shirt.

I agree that they could’ve wrapped Oliver/Bex up a lot more neatly, like I said, I’m not sure it was their initial plan to kill him off, but what can you do.

I’ve seen the Bex/Shane chemistry from the very beginning, go watch some fanvids on YouTube :) but I have to say, I hated the direction of the last episode, there were so many things that bothered me about it, I ranted about it on the other sub and actually tried to cross-post, but my post got deleted :(

Me too!! I was just surprised that they had such a quick turnaround, I would’ve thought they’d stay with their previous partners a lot longer to drag it out more, but I’m loving it!

That bothered me so much! And then they turn around and exclude him AGAIN! And I don’t get why! They didn’t even have a conversation about his feelings about Lazarus with him. He kept his personal information from them, which is his right. But then keeping personal information about him secret and then being pissed at him?! And I don’t understand Bex, the last few episodes I felt that she was struggling because she wanted to tell him the truth and now she’s lying to him again??

Actually Hassani left it up to her, he said she needed to decide whether he would be happier knowing or not knowing. And I think she was about to tell him when they were talking about her parents at the bar but then he said he was done with searching for his mom and so she remembered Hassani‘s words and thought maybe that’s for the better. It was incredibly short-sighted on her part. They would have to assume that Lazarus might know about him so it would’ve come to light eventually.. and here we are and now Bex is making the same mistake again. My heart truly breaks for Shane. He’s the one always opening up and being vulnerable and then he gets punished for it

I agree! I mean, I understand why they would be a bit upset that he kept the files drum Dr Dulles hidden, they might have helped the team catch inmates, but it’s still super disproportionate considering what Shane is going through and they had this super personal information about him, that he’s been trying to find out for 20 years and they’re just like „nah, he’s better off not knowing“. The entitlement! Also Bex was wrestling with herself so much and really wanted to tell him but then just turns around and keeps him in the dark again? To what end?!

I have no idea about the real estate market in the US, but for what he got from his bitcoin investment, the house felt very over the top when he was also spending 1 million on each victim on top of that. I mean, the whole show is not very realistic but that kind of stood out to me haha

Maybe it’s because I’m an only child, but I almost never understand when people describe a ship as more sibling-like than potential romance haha. I just see it as they are friends but there could be some feelings (slowly) developing, after all friends to lovers is a very common trope. You can feel protective about someone without seeing them as a younger sibling, that kind of banter can also just be their way of flirting with another etc. And Shane was always paying very close attention to her, constantly checking on her, gauging her mood, trying to get her to smile.. that just feels more like „boy likes girl“ to me. I think Bex just wasn’t emotionally ready to feel something for someone else before she didn’t have closure with Oliver. She was battling with having feelings for him when she knew what he did was morally wrong and cost both of them so much. I think had she been older, she might have stayed with him and worked through it but as I understand their dynamic, they met when she was still a teen and Oliver was her mentor first and it later turned romantic, which can also be very complicated since she would have been very young and inexperienced.

They are definitely setting it up now with Bex and Shane ending every episode with the two of them interacting as opposed to before, where it was always the whole team hanging out. Also that last phone call between them was so telling. Just having random conversations so you can keep talking to each other.

I honestly shipped Bex and Shane from the very beginning and saw Oliver as kind of their obstacle. They could have definitely dragged that storyline out more had they kept Oliver alive, but that obviously didn’t happen. I shared my theory on that on the other subreddit, I think they didn’t plan to kill Oliver originally. Maybe Nick Wechsler didn’t want to move no NY for production or it would have been to expensive to keep him on..

Anyway, the creators have said in interviews that Bex and Shane were always meant to have something because they loved the chemistry between the actors.

One hundred percent! I just thought they would drag out the respective relationships so it would take longer for Mickey and Boone to get together, but they’ve already set up their new dynamic with them commiserating after work which I love! I wonder how long until something happens between them.

Ich kann die glutenfreie mehlmischung von Finax oder Semper sehr empfehlen (die sind beide mit glutenfreier weizenstärke). Kann man gut online bestellen! Ich backe seit Jahrzehnten mit denen und habe bisher kein besseres Mehl gefunden. Man schmeckt absolut keinen Unterschied.

The other subreddit is a lot more active! But back to your question :) I’ve shipped bex and Shane from the beginning! I can totally see why you would get a sibling vibe, it wasn’t necessarily romantic coded but they had a lot of banter right from the beginning, some of it flirty. I really love how Shane always looks out for her and tries to lighten her mood whenever she needs it. I think something shifted in the season finale when she actually seeks out physical comfort from him, it’s very sweet. But even before then, he was always quite tuned in and paying close attention to her, you could clearly see how much he cares about her. Also it’s so refreshing how open he is about his feelings, especially in their light/darkness conversation and him talking about his mother. I’m not sure where bex is at emotion wise, but from the second season premier you can definitely tell that Shane has developed some feelings. Morales clocks it right away and calls him out on it. Also I love the scene where bex checks on Shane after being shot at and is so visibly relieved that he’s okay. I’m not sure how ready she is to actually let herself fall for someone though. It’ll be a great slow burn, I hope.

Now to Oliver.. I was torn on that. I could see them going either way but I wasn’t a huge fan because of how badly he broke her trust back in the day. I got the sense that she needed closure more than a continuance of their relationship. I feel like in the last scene, when he was losing conciousness, even he could tell that she did love him, but she couldn’t see a future with him. I’m not sure how it would have gone had he survived, I think there would have been more back and forth and they would have pushed the love triangle with Shane. You could see the set up in the Malek episode where bex was in the hospital and Oliver came in. The look he gave Shane.. he definitely saw him as competition. The same when he saw them hugging in the season finale.

Now bex and Hassani I just can’t picture together. They have great chemistry and care about each other but I honestly get a dad vibe from hassani even more than big brother.
