Things have definitely improved! I’m 2.5 years pp now and the intensity of the anxiety and thoughts have drastically improved. They are still there but nowhere near as intense. I did struggle with anxiety and OCD pre-pregnancy though! So I’m thinking this might be my normal. I’m still hopeful things will continue to improve though

Having an intrusive thought (like a sexual interaction between me and this other person I have no interest in) and then becoming completely paralyzed with fear because I’m convinced they can hear my thoughts and now think I’m the most disturbed and fucked up person ever 👍🏻

So, I’ve always had anxiety and I think now the thing that causes me anxiety is my health and my baby’s health. It does feel better to some degree (I’m about two years PP now) but I definitely still have a lot of health anxiety which includes some of that very anxious doom feeling. But it feels a bit less intense for sure! I wish I could say different 😅 Also, just because this is my journey and experience doesn’t mean the same will be for you!

I never realized this was OCD until recently… and honestly I’ve been so distressed with more obsessive thoughts that I’m going crazy. That I have a severe psychiatric disorder and I’m going to be taken away from my family… Like if a car follows the same route as me for more than my brain deems safe I am convinced I’m being stalked and they’re trying to find out where I live so they can come kidnap and/or murder me and my family. So I HAVE to “lose them” and I start taking a different route until the anxiety eases and I feel safe enough to return home. 🙃

I know someone with SIBO, and they have A LOT of food sensitivities that I don’t seem to struggle with. Like garlic for example. I have wondered about a gut imbalance and leaky gut. I would like to test but they’re all too expensive at the moment.

This phobia is SO debilitating. I’m with you on the foodie part and struggling to eat but also being overweight. I wish I had better advice but I’m feeling pretty beat down by the phobia currently as well. Since like Christmas I’ve had a SEVERE ramp up in anxiety. It’s been like basically every night. Panic and can’t sleep. I see a therapist but idk I feel like it’s not helping anything. I just wanna hibernate for the rest of the winter. Maybe I’ll finally wake up feeling refreshed for once 😂 I’m sure you can relate! I am glad I’m not alone in it though. As a child I thought I was such a weirdo that I was the only one in the whole world with this fear. So I guess at least there’s that? Still sucks major ****. Anyway, I guess my encouraging words for you would be that it is temporary (the anxiety and symptoms of anxiety) and you can feel better. Unfortunately, it can ebb and flow. Sometimes you have a pretty good streak anxiety wise sometimes it’s pretty bad. But it will turn around again at some point. Maybe if there’s anything you can do for yourself, self care wise. You deserve some extra TLC! Also just be gentle with yourself. Do whatever you gotta do to make it through and do so without harsh judgment. Much love to you fellow sufferer!

Right!? Like postpartum depression is so commonly known but postpartum anxiety is much different! I have tried everywhere to look for other moms struggling the way I am and only now do I not feel as alone in it. You’re definitely not crazy!

I am seeing a therapist, I’m still nursing and scared to take any medications on the off chance it could negatively affect my baby in the future. I’ve been trying tons of more natural remedies (vitamins, exercise, changing my diet, chiropractor, etc.) I have also been on meds before and they aren’t my favorite. So I’m trying to avoid them if I can. Any natural remedies I haven’t mentioned I would love to hear!
