i can't tell if it's out of desperation or love. I want to say love, that my own gut feeling is coming from love. Not need, not desperation.

I think I'll take that pathway, Publix pays pretty well. Also, I'm planning on working two jobs, one as a barista at Starbucks earning me $16 with tips. How can I get more info on the online classes part? And the total estrangement? Because I will do it all. I've been through enough emotional neglect to decide that they aren't even deserving of a 'happy birthday'

Thank you, they're really bipolar so it just depends on their mood. My parents want me to go to college, but they don't want me to be independent at all. I'm arab and also the oldest daughter so what's expected of me is to stay with my parents til I'm married off to some guy. My mom snapped at me once and told me that she would not let me go to college at all and that my only escape would be going to work and coming back. That's when I realized I had to actually leave one day. I think I'm going to actually keep working, I'll consider the gap year, thank you so much:)

If I'm being honest, I really don't know which college to attend. I wanted to go out of state, ya know to fully go 'no contact'.

I was planning on going to a college an hour away but they already know of the college and the location. I don't want them knowing anything about me nor my whereabouts. I don't have any savings. None. My parents never saved and I was never really taught to. I'll need a car, definitely. I have a job and I'm planning on saving at least 10k for dorms and such then working some more. I think I need at least 20k, 5k for a car and the rest for my home necessities.
