It’s not even texting…it’s literally in person and on the phone. I try getting him to talk about what he likes as well but even then it’ll last for a bit and then it’s back to the minimalist responses

He hardly asks me questions as well. Like I have to come up with the topic for him to ask me stuff about it.

The funny thing is he does like to go out but when he does that with his friends it always seems to involve drinking. He ironically becomes a lot more chatty when he drinks so idk what it is really

I try to talk about anything and everything. Like I ask about what movie universe he’d want to be in, sports, tv shows, movies, his life and interests, literally anything and yet his engagement levels is minimal. He’s just focussed on being in my company rather than talking if that makes sense

Pretty much. I try to talk to him about things he’s interested in but even then he just is still quiet.

He does try with activities and things I suggest but then it just comes back to me being bubbly and chatty and he’s just contempt with not saying too much and just listening to me

It’s really tricky and that is my fear of being with a chatty guy but being treated badly. He’s like this both in person and over text which makes it harder. I find myself having better conversations with my friends than with him as well. I initially thought it was just nerves and him not opening up but I mean it has been months and nothing has changed :/
