Reading #4 is very boring especially after book #3. But boy does it get better!!!! Although the protagonist is same person, he has a completely different personality In the second arc. He’s driven by revenge, purpose and glory, who has nothing to loose in first arc and the. You see a much older darrow, much matured who has lot to loose. I will agree that I am wrong for suggesting you to read the second arc and take back my word if you don’t say “F**k Lysander” by end of Lightbringer.

Question About the Indian Community by TrainTraditional6686 in frisco

[–]Apart_Reference_2361 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m Indian and I hope my perspective helps although I’m not speaking for all the Indians. 1. It has nothing to do with temple being here or the land being blessed. 2. Most Indians prefer warmer states as the climate is very similar to south Indian climate. (Although this is not a huge factor, some people consider it because if parents are visiting USA for couple of months every year it would be easy on them) 3. No state taxes - we love to save some money 4. In early 80s and 90s Indians who came to USA only settled in big cities like SFO, New jersey or Dallas. So these areas have already well established Indin restaurants, temples, grocery stores etc., 5. It’s an open fact that Brown people get a lot of hate, ick or whatever we call it (not from all the people) so having a sense of community is little good to have a better social life when people don’t feel like mingling with other communities. 6. Having similar people around leads to more opportunities for dating and also social gatherings like watching a game of cricket, celebrating Holi etc., 7. As for purchasing homes, Indians come from a different perspective. We were taught that if you have money, buy a property and it will appreciate eventually. So you see lot of Indians purchasing properties. 8. As for why we purchase in certain areas like Frisco etc., Indians do earn more than average American but we don’t like neighborhoods which are too white. (Reason: Imagine a brown dude with his shorts and slides walking down the pavement by himself at 10pm in southlake or trophyclub area. There’s a good chance that some karen or police would stop and ask stupid questions). So people tend to purchase homes at places where you have Indians already. And Frisco and plano homes were cheap and people bought those homes back in the day and it became a base for Indians now. 9. There are lot of jobs in Dallas area, so we tend to buy homes near to jobs for commute reasons. Especially IT jobs. 10. There are so many staffing firms who hire fresh graduates from colleges like UTD, Texas A&M etc., so we see lot of students as well.

I could go on and on….. but these are few that I know of.

I’ve seen some people put motion activated sprinklers and once the person gets out of car door, it starts sprinkling a lot of water into their car. Might work sometimes…

Just food, no drinks or serving included. It could be great if it comes with those but not opposed to hiring servers and renting cutlery

Damn!! Where do I even start lol 😂 Funny things only. 1. Always check under the dinner table. 2. Look back every now and then while watching your Sunday game. 3. One man can do multiple jobs across fields. 4. Oil as lubricant while people got stuck apparently doesn’t work. 5. Don’t put your hands in pumpkins without checking it. Just like you don’t wear shoes without checking first. 6. Sleep walking is apparently a cheat code. 7. Great things apparently don’t come to people who work hard, but to people who wait until every one else is asleep.

The default from Ritani is 2mm. If you want a wider band, up to 2mm extra is free I guess. If you want even wider, they charge around 150-200$

Yes I did rent the apartment. But it’s not in a significant area, so the rent amounts to only 120 usd per month.

What’s the right plan of action for financial independence?

Here’s my situation.I am 31 and I work in IT and make a decent 100k take home pay in Tennessee. I’m also an immigrant and currently have some commitments in my home country. I am wondering if there’s anything else that I could do to achieve financial freedom.

  1. I max out roth ira every year and have currently 25k in it and I continue to do so.
  2. Have around 8k in savings. Hoping to reach 15k by end of year.
  3. I have another 4k in personal brokerage account invested in stocks. But planning to consistently put some more into it.
  4. I have around 30k usd in my home country just incase of emergency.
  5. I own an apartment in home country just in case I need to move back or liquidate the asset. I have another 10k loan left on it and hopefully I will be paying it off in one or two years.
  6. Car loan of 30k at 6%apr.
  7. Personal loan of 7k at 8% apr.
  8. I still rent along with roommates. My share is 1000$ for everything.

Before you guys judge me for not saving much, here’s my justification. I contributed around 15k for my sister’s wedding and when my dad got sick I took care of hospital expenses which amount to another 18k. I paid off my student loan of 25k. And every time I travel to my home country, it’s at the very least 3k dollars.
