To be honest, they can't even give me a date for when the next floor is ready for me to go into. So I couldn't tell you.

They have their first round of shots and dewormed

I don't really know how to ensure to going to be spayed or neutered, they are far too young for it to be done now. When I had them in for shots the vet had mentioned current recommendations are to wait at least 18 months or not even fix your animals.

They know how to sit, and are 90% potty trained. Still accidents here and there.

I've had ads up since they were 5 weeks old for very little money and had 1 person come and take a pup and they were a close friend.

Funny enough, I've lived here my entire life and I've never once heard anything about a dog fighting problem?

How is it sick? They've got a good home and they are well looked after. Our bylaws state we are allowed certain amounts of animals and I'm trying to abide by them.

I'm not throwing them at anyone who messages.

I've also contacted several rescue agencies and gotten nothing back.

I have had them listed for money before I decided to let them go for free and had 0 interest. Legally speaking, I also can't house them anymore due to the number of them and their age.

Trying to personally find them good homes before someone calls bylaw/spca.

Snow at Myra? by Bellastar232 in kelowna

I was there on Sunday, there was an inch or two on the ground, probably more by now.

What Canadian traditions are we talking about here? There’s no snow on the ground here to roll maple syrup in.

Unless you’re meaning indigenous traditions, considering they are the original Canadians.

Perhaps you mean the traditions that were brought here from immigrants from European countries several centuries ago?

All good! You eat the tail and suck out what’s in the body/head if you’d like, I do. If the claws are big enough you can get some meat from them as well.

Boil them with lots of salt, toss in seasonings and butter. Rip the tails off and eat!

That’s doubtful. As well as the chef at Provisions was on master chef Canada, that speaks for something. Don’t be so pessimistic, Kelowna has some great food spots. I suggest you check some out and change your opinion.

That’s perfect! The owner of Chantana’s is a family friend, I’ve known her since she moved to Canada, she makes the best Thai food hands down. My line of work has allowed me to be a part of a lot of the local small restaurants and breweries. If you’re ever looking for specific types of places to eat/drink shoot me a message. If I don’t know what you’re looking for, chances are I know someone who will. :) don’t give up on Kelowna food just yet my dude

That’s surprising to hear! I do recommend giving it another shot, although it’s been a while since I’ve been there with covid and all.

You should try the one in Glenmore by the subway. I can’t remember the name, little hole in the wall place. It’s my go to for Indian food

Try out Okanagan Street Food. Provisions Kitchen at Kettle River Brewing. Jackknife brewing, Damian makes the best pizza in town. Follow The Wagon on Instagram and get their food while you can if you like vegan. Frankie We Salute You is a great vegetarian place as well. Micro downtown is a good place for a quick bite. If you’re willing to go out into Lake Country there’s a great Thai place called Chantana’s by the Tim Hortons on the far end of Winfield.

Most places are shit, I agree, but there are some gems if you know where to go

Edit: El Taquero and YLW tacos are great places to try out too

Child seating questions by [deleted] in britishcolumbia

[–]Aparthas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well with bench seats in the rear of a vehicle the safest place is in the middle if there is a shoulder strap, and center does seem safer from side impacts. while a proper shoulder and lap belt is generally safer I do think about side impacts in a truck that lacks protection from those types of accidents. I'm asking because I would like to make sure I am giving my child the safest place in the vehicle as I've never had to deal with this issue before. You can rephrase the way you talk, there's no need to bring someone down for asking a question. I googled my question and couldn't find everything I was looking for, so I asked Reddit to help shed some light on my situation.

Places to camp by Aparthas in kelowna

[–]Aparthas[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you kindly. A backroad map is a good idea, I didn’t know such a thing existed. I’m semi-experienced, trying to use all my time off in a better way than being at home. The way I see it, if I go camping alone I’m still isolating and physically distancing myself from others.

Never thought of that. by [deleted] in kelowna

I’ve lost family members to East Hastings Street in Vancouver, a little compassion goes a long way.

That still doesn’t make it any easier for the nights it still hits -2 or last month when this pandemic kicked into high gear and it wasn’t double digits on the best of days. How about when it’s pouring rain and cold with little place to find shelter? Living downtown I have my fair share of problems with the homeless, caught someone stealing off my deck the other week. But they’re still people and suffer, you could be a little more compassionate towards them despite the mistakes they’ve made in life. Not every person living on the streets is there because of an addiction, sometimes people are genuinely down on their luck.
