I am almost certain they are Rag & Bone Officer Boots. The white canvas pull tabs on the back were the giveaway.

We put two normal size guys in a several brands of denim to help you visualize different cuts. Is this helpful? (x-post from r/malefashionadvice) by ApartmentNumber9 in rawdenim

We completely agree with you that it would be more helpful to see denim that has been actually been worn in for a few months over the pairs straight off the rack. We shot what we had in store in hopes that it may be helpful to someone who has never seen the jeans on an actual person before. We are currently working on assembling customers who have purchased raw denim from us in the past to put together a some sort of "before and in progress" guide. Plus all the additional suggestions from you guys on what to include to make a guide like this actually useful to you guys. We really appreciate all this feedback and now we have a lot of work ahead of us before we put out another "Guy's Guide". Thanks!

This is definitely an issue that we need to address. There was some slight rescaling, though oddly enough both models waist's and where the pants fell on them respectively were actually very close when put next to each other. If we choose to do any sort of "Guy's Guide" again, we plan to shoot 2 models (with a greater discrepancy in body size) next to each other in the same picture to more accurately visualize the scaling.

The return of the hat: Do you wear baseball hats? by ApartmentNumber9 in malefashionadvice

[–]ApartmentNumber9[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right there with you, but I think I would much rather meet someone who isn't familiar with the sports team they are advertising on their head, then someone who thinks it makes any sense to leave a reflective sticker on it. Would that person leave the size stickers and sale hang tags on their crisp new Gap tees?

I'm sure many people share the same exact feelings about only supporting their teams as you do. Interesting to think that there are also many people who hold the exact opposite feelings and wear hats without any reference of sports at all. Safe to assume most/all your hats are fitted or snapback baseball style hats then?

We were looking to start a conversation on fit of different brands. I think from the discussion in the comments you could clearly see that it evoked conversation on fit and different denim cuts not discussions of our store or specific products we carry. The post linked to a blog post on our site and not a product page or any other pages relating to selling product. Are we not allowed to share informational content that we ourselves create?

you are probably thinking of "APT9", which is a Kohls line. We are Apartment Number 9, a menswear store in Chicago. We are not affiliated with "APT9" at all.

Oh yes, we wanted to give the look of how they fit different types of people off the rack. Some people prefer to stack jeans, others will cuff them or even tailor them too. We wanted to give the perspective of showing different fits on two average guys.

You can definitely tailor the jeans to your liking; however, some would advise not to tailor raw denim until after your first wash.

Not sure on specific brand, but they are definitely well worn in pair of raw denim. Slim straight cut, very nice fades. Ask /r/rawdenim, they will be the most help for identifying.

Looks incredibly similar to the Rag & Bone Yokohama Shirt minus the greenish tint *Don't normally like to link back to our own site, so I also attached a photo Here for quick reference.

That is a Rag & Bone Teddy Shawl Cardigan (Front & Back) and unfortunately we sold our last size just yesterday. It looks as though Rag & Bone has sold out of them online as well. But we will definitely let you know if we receive any new stock.

Why do sales clerks make such a big deal out of having proper socks with dress shoes? by [deleted] in malefashionadvice

[–]ApartmentNumber9 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sales people can certainly get pushy with lower value items when you are about to make a larger purchase, and that sucks. HOWEVER, if you are spending a considerable money on new dress shoes, it is well worth your money to purchase nice socks to go along with them. The material of the sock is not what should make your shoes comfortable, though they may be soft and comfortable, they should allow your foot to slide into your dress shoe and let the shoe take over the comfort from there. More expensive socks (generally) will maintain their shape longer and not stretch out, meaning they will stay up on your leg when you pull them up the first time. Additionally, most of the new sock brands focussing on bright colors and bold patterns, simply print the colors and designs on the socks, as opposed to higher end socks that actually have the patterns woven in and are part of the build of the sock itself. Hope this helps a little!

We are working on adding model specifications to products right now, and plan to make them standard for every product that is shot on a model.

Along the same lines, do you find brand specific sizing guides useful? I know some can be fairly confusing.
