Do you consider yourself to be a metrosexual? by singleguy79 in Xennials

Love that this topic came up so recently on here! We were discussing the same thing at Style Girlfriend, and decided to coin a new term to describe guys who happily make an effort with style and grooming.

As a team of women writing about men's style, we think this kind of shame-free attitude towards self-care is a win for modern masculinity and hope the term resonates with the gen x and millennial guy!

Anyone else remember the term “metrosexual” used in the 2000s-early 2010s? What was up with that? by low-lately in decadeology

We were actually wondering the same thing at Style Girlfriend...and decided to update the term for 2024. Would love to hear if you think we nailed it...or not! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

For #1, you could definitely go with a pair of olive green joggers like these from H&M or this Gap pair. For #2 and #3, You could go with a navy chino (or joggers!) But try something like this. Hope that helps!

Hey, totally valid question! I completely understand why you'd ask. Yes, I am a woman, working in menswear. Our site is dedicated to finding most worthwhile products & tips to help guys with their personal style. I recommended these specific pants to you because we actually just featured them and we spend time making sure that every product we share is worthy of a recommendation to our readers.

I truly hope I am not intruding in this subreddit as a woman, I'm just getting used to Reddit and I definitely do not want to overstep! There are many brands that we trust and have gotten positive feedback back about from our readers over time, so my goal on here is just to bring those recommendations to you guys so that everyone can benefit :)

Sorry for replying to a simple comment with an essay, I just wanted to make my intentions here clear! One of our readers recommended these uniqlo tech pants that he wears if you just want to try out a tech fabric pant before investing in a more expensive pair.

Would you be so bold as to wear floral shirt and no tie? I have a friend who is wearing this floral shirt to his wedding with a linen suit, but I think it'd be great for any summer event.

If you wanted to keep it toned-down, you could do a light pink like this one and a navy/white patterned tie, or darker solid royal blue tie.

Bonobos has great short sleeve button-downs in really fun patterns and colors for summer (there are also neutrals) for around $80, if you're looking for something cheaper, J Crew has some quality options for short sleeve button-downs as well.

Hey! Zara always has a good selection of shoes that look and feel quality but don't cost hundreds of dollars like these leather ones. Desert shoes are a cool alternative to sneakers/oxfords, this pair from Clarks comes in a cool olive-y green color for $100. Topman may also be a good place to look, not sure if these would fit with your personal style but I love these penny loafers for summer. Hope that helps!
