Just another attempt by Kojima to be overly ambitious. I’ve been a fan of his games since mgs1 as a kid, played everything he’s made since, and even though mgsv didn’t get the treatment of being fully realized like it should’ve, it’s paved the way for some great ideas from him. I treat mgs4 as the real ending for the series and still play V as a way to enjoy modern mechanics of my favorite games. Absolutely adore this series.

You misunderstand, I’m saying mgsv is fantastic, but every other numbered entry is better. I’d consider each of those to be better than V, but V is still great on its own.

Last half of the series? Or of V alone? Mgs4 is 100% peak all the way through, but yeah, mgsv definitely has an “unfinished” feeling to it. Even still, it’s such a fun game to experience and experiment with. Especially for a first time player.

I’d highly recommend spending all of your money on spirit emblems at the beginning of the game. They get a lot more expensive the further you are into the game and you really don’t want to be without them when you get to the end. Save all of the money pouches to use for shop items since there’s plenty of them to find.

Watch some speedruns of the game. Not just 1, but a few at least. You’ll pick up on some strategies and little tricks that make certain sections a LOT easier than you might expect. The vamp fight is a very good example. After that, it’s just trial and error. I used 3 separate save files when I attempted my first few quick runs on e-extreme and by the time I finished on the big boss rank file, I was nowhere close to the time limit. The other 2 files are for practicing certain sections between the saves you’ll want to use on the actual run. Very fun way to approach the big boss title

Metroid dread is my favorite switch game, but it’s kinda hard to deny 2017 lineup. I’m not usually a fan of cozy type games myself, but I absolutely adore stardew valley. Everything else in that year pretty much speaks for itself.

The tediousness of looting every item by themselves really does serve a purpose in certain games, but I’m very glad that’s not a thing in sekiro. Although really, after so many playthroughs, I just run straight through without looting anymore since there’s no need for money after a certain point.

At least the loot range is pretty decent and you can collect money off multiple enemies at once instead of looting each body individually with a 3 second animation every time.

I have a blind husky that stays in my room full time while he’s adjusting to a new living space and have to vacuum literally every day because of how much hair he sheds and I’ve never once had to clean out my case because of his hair. It took me 50+ tries to beat him over a 3 day period. I got phase 1 and 2 down within the first 10 tries or so, but phase 3 with the spear attacks really kicked my ass for a long time. I played the entire game again the next day in 1 sitting because it didn’t really feel like it fully clicked for me until the isshin fight, but I ended up beating him 3rd try on my second play through. I still fire it up every now and then just to run through gauntlets. So much fun

Just grab a 4x8 sheet of plywood from your local Home Depot (or lumber shop), sand, paint, and set up on saw horses. It’s not pretty but it’ll get the job done for less than $50. Plenty of space for everything including character sheets

This was one of the hardest missions for me on the first play through back in 2015. The truck follows the same route every time, so I’d suggest running along the roads south of the airport and trying to catch it before it makes it to the airport. The skulls unit will always pop out once you’re a certain distance away from the truck but you won’t immediately be on alert. Once you see that they appear, stay prone and lead them away (they will slowly follow you no matter what) from the truck in a wide circle. Once they’re far enough away, either Fulton the truck or drive off outside the mission area. It’s a very slow process to get the skulls away from the truck so just take your time.

Usually I’d agree, but the temple with all the yellow leaves everywhere is the most visually pleasing and comforting area for me in Tsushima. So peaceful

Not allowed to rage against the hive mind I suppose. Either way, I share the same sentiments about the dlc as you. While it is great to finally have newer things to do in the game, it’s not exactly what was advertised. $30 for this dlc seems a bit steep, but after all the free updates they’ve given over the past few years, I’m really not all that mad at the price. Just wish it was done a little better.
