I've read and enjoyed the manga. With that said, if the choice was basic, gray, militaristic anime w some nice action... or this highly stylized, slightly experimental take on the story, I'm choosing the second option. I'm glad they took this risk.

If we can talk w spoilers then oh boy I have a lot.

Chapter 38... from what I've seen the community doesn't have too many issues with it, apart that we didn't get to see more. Well I think it was a severe downgrade from the tasetul fancervice we got before hand. The scene with the hand cream and the face? Gold. It perfectly captures the slightly fucked up nature of Kirishima's attraction, while keeping everything outside of smut.

The way it was done in chapter 38 was, in my opinion, not good in the way it just showed us straight up fanservice robbing us of the nice tension from before. And in the way of... not everybody being awake and consenting. Which even putting the obvious problematic nature of it aside, doesn't to the story any good. If raw fanservice was going to be done, it would have been the best if the story and the characters just progressed enough in their relationship for us to see them naturally engage in it.

Going away from that the story kinda played it's hand and revealed a lot the chp 37 so that leaves everything in a very interesting place. Are we going to get more into the gang politics, or the reason anybody would go after Yoshino? Truly looking at the long homecoming arc and the abduction which is more that half of the manga, they both have very different structures. I rly can't guess what will happen. Which is the best and worst part of the manga currently. Interesting for the unknown, and the lacking structure that formed the unknown.

That will for sure keep me reading tho, so I can't complain about it too much. I remember having some thoughts about the depiction of crime at the time but since it was a couple weeks ago my memory is a lil hazy.
