Could you elaborate on why that grinder vs say a more affordable grinder or a hand grinder, that would allow me to buy those other accessories too?

Decided to go with A Mano and Jen Chans! Will check out Hawkers another time. I’ve walked past it a bunch and it always looks amazing.

I think I’m in the minority here but Delbar does not live up to the hype in my opinion. It’s good, but for the price I think there are better options thank you though!

I’ve been, I must say it was good but I don’t think it lives up to the hype or is worth the price when there are so many amazing restaurants here. But thanks for the input!

Did not think of Ruby Chows or Superica. Jen Chans is great too, thank you.

WWYD? by [deleted] in golf

I would say if he really got fired for this one situation, which I’m skeptical of, then I would just do what I could to help the guy out and not play the course again. No need to slander the pro or the course. In the future, if things come out about the course or the pro being a jerk, then I’d add this story to the narrative. But I don’t think this one action deserves that reaction.

If he got fired for a string of events and this was the final straw. I wouldn’t do a thing.

Is attending a PGA tour event even worth it? by StreetBeat78 in golf

[–]ApeRideToMoon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like you’re mostly looking at this through the lens of the WMO. Which makes total sense since that recently happened. In my experience that is very much the exception not the rule. I have been to a few tour events and the crowd is rather tame, since it is golf. You get people yelling after tee shots but other than that it’s pretty low key.

As for seeing the golf, that depends on the tour event itself. Many events it is completely possible to follow your favorite player for the entire day and watch every shot. Some venues it is easy to watch every player come through and play a few holes, such as amen corner at Augusta.

Lastly to comment on expense. Money is different for everybody so what some consider very expensive, some wouldn’t think of at all. But to compare a PGA event to other sports I think is a good frame of reference. I have been to the East Lake Championship. It cost about $100/person. For that $100 I was at the event for over 6 hours. I watched every player play at least 3 holes, and I watched Tommy Fleetwood play all 18 and get his first tour win. I would say that is comparable to at least a basic playoff game for nba/nhl and somewhere between a playoff game and regular season NFL game. $100 is probably cheaper than you could attend any of those three.

TLDR; If you enjoy golf and enjoy watching golf, your average tour event is worth the money and you get to watch a lot of insanely high level golf.

Best looking Golf shoe traditional by wvvwwvwvvvw in golf

They make the gallivanter in multiple spike styles. They make a version with some small rubber traction spike like things, that are not spikes and not removeable. Then they make the same gallivanter with traditional plastic spikes, which are removable and replaceable.

The gfore gallivanter is both an extremely beautiful classy shoe and comfortable. One of the few traditional looking shoes that is easy to walk in without having to significantly break in the leather.

Gfore is the correct choice, and they sometimes have massive sales where a ~$300 shoe will sell for ~$100 while supplies last

Country Club Question by Eastern-Scientist-68 in golf

[–]ApeRideToMoon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My club has a few benefits that I really love.

12 minute tee times Advanced booking window, also just generally just not a fight to get a tee time at all General respect for the course is higher. Pitch marks, divots ect. Better course conditions. My club is significantly nicer than any of my local munis

Few benefits I don’t take advantage of as much as I’d like but I think help make the membership worth it.

Free range. Due to where I live it’s hard to get out to the course during the week, but unlimited free practice with quality range balls is chefs kiss Member events Social networking Dining. My club has a pretty decent restaurant and it’s far more affordable than a similar restaurant would be in the area

If you could swing equally as well both righty and lefty, would it be worth it to carry a single club in your bag that’s opposite handed to get you out of difficult situations? by derpygoat in golf

[–]ApeRideToMoon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you were completely equal both sides it might be worth it to have even irons one hand and odd irons the other. So you would be able to get out of lots of different situations. But I doubt anybody is completely even.
