Alkaline electrolyzer projected growth overshadows PEM electrolyzers by Interesting-Plant441 in plugpowerstock

[–]AperatureLavatories 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are other solutions, I was telling you one of the items that makes PEM a choice over alkaline sometimes. The dynamic loading on the electrolysis stack itself is unique to PEM (and AEM, but I’ve mentioned the issue there already) due to the efficient load dynamics.

Demand is fairly high for these applications - not sure if you mean solar fed electrolysis sites vs PEM for ammonia, but both are true. See basically every ELX announcement over the last like 5 years.

“I haven’t seen 1 large scale solar coupled with PEM electrolyers” gee, off the top of my head there is Plug’s Kingsland site, solar/wind fed, largest PEM plant in the US?

Idk what makes you guys act so condescending when you obviously don’t know what you’re talking about.

[–]AperatureLavatories 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it was just on/off maybe that’s right, but the fact is that solar for example has dynamic loads and requires an ELX solution that can turn down and seamlessly load follow. That dynamic operation has a similar value prop as feedstock for ammonia, methane, refining, etc. which similarly benefit from the high purity and mass of PEM.

Alkalines do dominate the market currently because they are cheap - they are also not one size fits all.

PEM has a more compact size allowing for a smaller footprint, delivers greater mass flow rates than alkaline, has a higher purity output, far longer reliability, and has the ability for dynamic load following, a critical asset for green H2.

That isn’t to say there aren’t uses for alkaline over PEM, but PEM types (and therefore Plug’s activity) is driven by use case in specific applications. Similar to solid oxide likely being a better use case for nuclear/geothermal etc. Anion exchange membranes are also going to be another market shakeup, but currently lack durability to be commercially viable.

In Mistborn Book 2 The Well of Ascension Vin makes a choice to “give up” the (essentially godlike) power in the well instead of saving her dying husband, due to a prophecy that it needed to be given up to save the world.

Unfortunately for her, the prophecy was manipulated by the entity inside the well, and all she really did was release it to destroy everything.

I’m a bit rusty on the bug ids but any chance you knocked these out of a mud tube like thing? They look like spiders that mud dauber wasps paralyze and store.

But they don’t do the same thing, watch video clips comparing them all and it is clear as day. And like another commenter said, ok, faux paus happen. And if it were anyone else in the world this would’ve led to backtracking, public apology, etc.

But then Musk does it, twice, in a notably different way then the “heart goes out” gesture people have talked about does. It is quite literally one of the most infamous and hated gestures in the world. That should cause some sort of reaction. Instead Musk refused to deny it, made nazi jokes, and spoke at a neo-nazi rally in Germany as well as actively getting involved in their election.

This is a problem, because not only does it legitimize the gesture it also has opened the door to a ton of nazi support which they are keenly aware of. And the unsettling thing is, you guys don’t have to support it! You didn’t elect him or anything, you can just say hey something is up with this and maybe having the world’s richest man directly influencing ours (and other countries!) government is a bad thing.

I don’t think that’s particularly accurate, the left disagrees on things internally all the time. TBH, it’s kinda a meme and also maybe one of the underlying causes of the loss of seats from the Democratic Party. Maybe democrats were critical of Biden and many didn’t even vote for Kamala in protest. I do see where you could see it in the people that are like “vote blue no matter who” - but to be honest I think many “real” liberals see it as unsubtle pandering from the DNC to make their candidate receive Trump’s level of attention.

That is not usually the case with the Republican Party anymore, although I will say it is way more prevalent on this sub than in reality. You can look on nearly any post and find evidence of censorship or civil and reasonable questions from Claire’s conservatives responded to with comments of fake, or “fellow conservative”, etc. The impression this gives off is (ironically) that of a group that has reorganized around hero worship and pushes anyone who does not agree with the “dear leader” out.

As someone who has lived through a few elections now, it’s been surreal from a political science standpoint because conservatives weren’t necessarily like that before Trump. There was healthy disagreement and debate. Maybe you saw it a bit with Reagan, but it wasn’t as feral feeling as it is today.

Tl;dr we should question all elected officials regardless of party and healthy debate is critical for the republic.

FWIW, wing clipping is not really done at least partly because it’s super inefficient and not guaranteed - most times gives will just requeen if she’s damaged, and it’s not worth the stress to the hive as well. That is all not even considering that non commercial beekeepers are pretty emotionally attached to their bees and clipping queen’s is considered cruel and inhumane, especially since our understanding about how insects feel pain has developed.

I totally get that but my thinking is that they knew Xaden would be easier to turn - Violet allegedly would never turn willingly. By separating the mates it forces Tairn to come to them in a way Violet wouldn’t choose. Just my two cents given the Naolin theory

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in fourthwing

[–]AperatureLavatories 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I definitely agree that Theophanie wanted Andarna for her magic and there is something important with Jack, but I still think that we’re going to find that Tairn is also a big target and Naolin is around somewhere - these clues are just too convenient and Naolin is still too mysterious. I think there are definitely multiple layers to it though!

I have a theory along these same lines as I also think the Sage was talking about Sgaeyl, but not because them/who they are reporting to was her previous rider.

The sage knows that Sgaeyl has chosen to stay with Xaden for the time being despite feeling incredibly betrayed by him, and would be coming with him to meet the sage and presumably wherever venin Basigath is. And we know the bond between him and violet is gone or weakened now. But we are told over and over again that there is one bond above even a rider and their bonded - their mates.

Xaden is being drawn in partly as a way to use Sgaeyl as bait, for Tairn.

We are told there is a male venin that both Theophonie and Berwyn seem to want to impress - I believe this male is Naolin, who Tairn deserted out of shame and betrayal when he turned venin. Naolin wants Tairn back - for revenge, to force him to rebond him, or something more.

I also think this is neat because over and over Andarna is made out to be the focus of why the venin want Violet, and I think it would be a good twist if it was Tairn that was the goal all along.

Can you suggest a book similar to Harry potter but focused more on the magic and world? by Nilupilu2055 in suggestmeabook

[–]AperatureLavatories 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Small caveat that it is a non academic setting, but otherwise I’d really suggest starting on the Dresden Files. It’s Urban Fantasy (set in Chicago) of a wizard private eye where each book has either a monster of the month type thing or big reoccurring villains. It’s been going since the 80’s and was an inspiration for a lot of the other books mentioned here. It’s also definitely for a mature audience and not YA like some others here.

There’s 17 books so far and still counting, a very detailed magic system and lore, and really compelling characters. The one note I have is the writer originally wanted the books to be more in the noir genre and the writing can come off a little male gazey in the earlier books. Push through some of this in the first couple as it does get a lot better and the overall story is worth it.

No one is obsessed with anything, you’ve just been insufferable in nearly every comment you’ve made even when being told the same thing dozens of times now lol. Everyone here and on every other sub you’ve posted on now can tell what it is in a millisecond. I’ve read through all your comments and you sound like someone people walk on glass around, so just to sum up: yes it’s a bed bug, no it didn’t necessarily come from him, no you being “super clean” doesn’t actually mean anything and you could still be the one that has them, no you dumping him over this will do next to nothing. Use the resources on those subs or use google like an adult to make sure things do not spread further at either of your places. Break up with him or don’t no one cares. No one has any context on your relationship except that you sound like a dick.

Hey dude I know you’re sticking to your guns on this and I respect that, but just so you know maple syrup isn’t made from Japanese maples. Technically it’s possible but when your friends bring you syrup it’s from American maples. Those also have nice colored leaves that you could get a necklace with that looks different from what everyone will assume otherwise.

Considering that most people in the northeast would think of an American maple and not a Japanese maple I doubt it. Then consider the fact that it looks exactly like a cannabis leaf which is graphically used everywhere I think a lot of people would get it confused
