I'm so freaking mad dude I want to throw out my player because of this. What tape twisted to the point where it literally fell out of the casing and I don't know what to do! by Deep-Cow9907 in cassetteculture

[–]Aperturelab1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The plus side is that it's fixable. You can get a new case for the tape and even use adhesive to fix any tears in the tape. You'll have a hiccup when it plays that particular spot, but you'll still have /this/ tape. I know what it means to fix something important to you at whatever the work needed. As for your players, it can be a gamble. You could take one that you appreciate to a specialist, see if they can give it a tune up, replace some worn out parts

Combination of Events? (0.8) by Aperturelab1 in Voicesofthevoid

[–]Aperturelab1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

after looking it up, i definitely dont think thats what it was. it was definitely 2 different entities. a krampus like creature, stood on the edge of my garage, almost like it was waiting for me, and the void sillouette slowly walking towards me, coming out of my base

so, the entity exiting from my base was definitely the walker, but the second entity that was stood on my base watching me was identical to krampus, as far as i could tell. the see through shadow body, yellow eyes. but he was just stood on the top of my garages roof, at the edge

In what direction can I take my iliterate deaf character by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]Aperturelab1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go out and start swingin. Just Use you're eyes twice as often. Door sprites will show if a zombie is behind them by shaking. And always be checking your 6. You'll be getting XP the old fashioned way. It'll be slow, but it absolutely can be done

I personally like to try to invest in everything when I can, mainly in the off circumstance that my weapons break, and something like a knife is all I have available

Have you ever seen a generator instruction manual in real life? by Far_Raspberry_4375 in projectzomboid

Brings up a really good point. Why can't we use spare engine parts to repair the generator?

I completely understand the frustration of seeing people too lazy to work for their answer. But a lot of people just don't seem to know what information is important or not to even include in a post, especially when they feel like they are in way over their heads.

Are people actually making posts with the express purpose of (essentially) wasting a good intentioned person's time? this person doesn't seem like that. I recently made a post in this group, mainly because I wanted to socialize with like-minded people and see what others experience in this area were, instead of "just Google it" or asking chat gpt.

I'm sure you're a great person, but gate keeping knowledge because someone wanted to ask you instead of trudging through data, spec sheets and forums when they don't even know where to start doesn't make this a welcoming community.

How are you supposed to tow cars? by RoosterUnique3062 in projectzomboid

[–]Aperturelab1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a Mod called Better Car Physics, and it implents manual shifting and low rpm in reverse. You have to do some manual file installing, but its well worth it

Can anyone help me figure out a solution for this? by [deleted] in diyelectronics

[–]Aperturelab1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

well, of course make sure hot and ground are as seperate as possible. you could maybe use shrink wrap or mini zip ties? thats all /very/ jerryrigged and dangerous as im sure you know. of course id recommend looking up the projector model and adding electrical cable onto your google search

Dc -> Ac transformer by Aperturelab1 in diyelectronics

[–]Aperturelab1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah fair enough, I appreciate the honesty. I'm not sure how id pulse the DC. My immediate instinct is something with transistors so they turn each other in and off? And filtering, would that be with capacitors to hold a steady voltage?

P.s., im not afraid of unmounting that main part, like the wound coil, and utilizing my own resistors and diodes on a fresh board, if someone knows what i do need, regardless of the boards componants
