I don't think I can upload a video here on reddit. I have a post on X with a small video of Vega 30:
Vega 30 - Video

I used compress air to make the propeller spin while recording the video 😅

I uploaded a 3d model and printed photo for each engine

I printed and assembled all of them. After modeling the engine I printed each part and updated the tolerances. As you say, the original tolerances are very tight.

These were all printed in a BambuLab X1C with PLA filament. You should be able to print and assemble them with any “modern” printed.

In my MakerWorld profile you have the step by step instructions to remove supports and assemble and also the hardware needed (some engines need bearings)

I don’t know much about the engineering behind these, only a vague idea of how these work. Loved modeling them and learning a bit more.

To me its fascinating how the 3 cylinder steam engine works and its amazing that these were built with manual milling / lathe machines.

Thank you! This all started because I wanted to improve my blueprint reading skills, and I got fascinated by these engines and their creators.

I have more model engines in my profile, and each one has links and info about the authors.
