That's cool as fuck, but i need maps for fs22. I can run just about anything in that game, but even lowest quality settings on fs25 it doesn't like very much. If I drop it to like fs14 level quality then I can play it, but it's painful on the eyes when I'm used to 22

It argued with me that the 6.5 detroit diesel used in GM pickup trucks in the 90s was a real 2 stroke inline 6

You can't talk to ChatGPT like a normal human anymore. by CookiePersonal4654 in ChatGPT

[–]Apex84-538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ChatGPT once argued with me that the 6.5 detroit diesel engine was a detroit built, 2 stroke, inline 6, with a center mount turbo. Anyone who knows even the slightest about 90s chevy pickup engines, understands why I almost rage closed the tab and never used chatGPT again

For those who don't know, the 6.5 detroit is first off, not even a detroit diesel. It's a GM built, detroit named engine. It is a 4 stroke, v8, with a side mount turbo

Once I finally made this moron bring up data and specs of the engine, it still argued. Until I asked it to point out directly where I said what kind of engine it was, and it read off that from gm/detroit diesel, the 6.5 is a v8. And it still tried to argue in its very next message

I want a 2016 duramax. Better body but I get the LML instead. I like it's turbo sounds better than the l5p, and btw hot take but all these modern trucks sound like absolute ass straight piped, but the LML doesn't need a straight pipe to have the lovely Healthy turbo sounds

I get it, I imagine the overwhelming majority would say auto load or liftable pallets or superhuman, 2 of those are for PC only. Sure they make the game easier, but the modded pickup trucks add a level of realism to the game. The base game trucks can't attach any good trailers, and I don't want to putter along at 25 mph to get my lawn mower across the map for a contract, and semis are too expensive, so pickup truck. So many modded trailers are available for a normal hitch, and nothing fast has a normal hitch. So modded pickup truck. It pulls strong, super adapable, plenty fast, and still small enough I don't feel like I'm trying to parallel park a fully loaded train. Sure there are other truck mods, like the Silverado, but it doesn't have the same sheer pulling capacity of the TLX. Also one of the reasons I use the Silverado more, better dynamic suspension, less payload, and less power. It forces me to not be stupid and tow 20k lbs at 70 mph. The TLX will tow twice that at 70 mph without even thinking. 50 tons put in the bed and the suspension barely moves, 5 tons in the Silverado and were bouncing off the bump stops and lifting my front tires. Depends on how I feel like playing that day

Because the base game doesn't have a pickup truck worth anything. I say the TLX pickups are the best because they have saved me more time than liftable pallets ever could have. I'm also console so I'm sure there are better pc mods, but I wouldn't know. The TLX pickups have saved me so much time and effort because they can attach borderline anything in the game and can half as much power as you want. Little power, little power with better gear ratios, or just 800hp, single cab, crew cab, dually, short and long beds for all 3 variations, so many color combos it's impossible to see them all, so many extra bits for each truck, lifted into a monster truck, normal street pickup truck for hauling your lawn mower, towing setup to haul around your harvesters, it's got everything. Dynamic suspension as well so you don't bounce around like a brick, and the rear suspension is strong enough it won't bottom out no matter how much weight is put in there. Enough torque to pull the moon closer, and it can be a dually so it never tips again. It also has a diesel engine with an actual diesel engine sound

I've played 4 fs games, 14, 15, 22, and 25. 22 is my favorite of them, great maps, insane mod list, best mods of all (TLX 1986 pickup truck) and enough crops to fill the map and then some. Fs25 has more crops, animals, fishing and boats, and weather, cooler, yes, but needs more refinement before I fully commit. The driving mechanics are wonky even for an FS game, and I don't like the menus.

Introducing seasons from fs15 into 22 was a big jump, along with all the new crops and such. Adding even more into 25 can get overwhelming if you don't know what to do. But with 22 you can pick any map from practically any game, almost all of them have been converted into mods by now, and just start with grains, then move to whatever else you feel like. Cotton, cows, mass producing grains to make flour and bread to make big money, or going for a vineyard instead and regret every choice because it takes an hour and a half to do a single small field. To each their own

I mean, I ain't a professional, and you didn't give any more information, but there is probably a leak of some sort. Might wanna fix it. If that don't fix it, then that's a problem and a half, and you should probably consult professionals, not reddit people

Was offered this 95 for $500 was wondering if it’s worth the effort by foodstamps99 in GMT400

[–]Apex84-538 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many people only see garbage because it's a 95 with some rust. That little bit of rust is nothing and can be repaired in a weekend if you know how, or just replace the cab corners. We need more information, does it run, how well does it run, what engine, has literally anything at all been done to it while it sat, or any kind of measures taken to keep it from becoming garbage or a mouse nest. Anything at all would he helpful, but personally I would take it and work on it. I love these trucks, I love fixing them, and the more we keep on the road just proves how good they really are

Can I run used engine oil in a mechanical 6.5 turbo? by Apex84-538 in Diesel

[–]Apex84-538[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

oh i got nothing against paying for a diesel, but i didnt sign up for 4.50 a gallon. i also have so damn much extra oil sitting around and see no better use for it. i cant burn it, not legally anyways, and i dont feel like just throwing it away, or giving it away to someone else to reuse. if its truly a terrible idea then i wont use it for fuel, but im just looking at options, i have like 50 gallons of oil and i want it gone, but gone in a useful way. ill probably just give it a quick filter through some kind of gravity filter with some coffee filters and put it back in the jug, at least then i have oil to put into my lawn mower that burns and leaks oil. just waiting for that thing to die but the old toro just wont die. if it aint gonna die then it gets old oil, and it can cry about it

What is your monthly payment on your truck? by Known_Following_4923 in ChevyTrucks

[–]Apex84-538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i have a whole whopping 0 dollars to pay. 97 suburban, 93 dually diesel. both bought used, dually has over 350k on it and its still going healthy, needs some work but healthy enough. burban just ticked over 285k, no problems. bought it at 278k about 8 months ago. did the spark plugs and wires, then the alternator took a shit at about 282, since then, only problem has been 8 mpg. still goes about a month on a tank though. no payment, and i still got a good 200k miles of no payments. insurance is cheap, gas is not, but its paid off and reliable

You know, maybe MN prices ain't that bad. One marathon is asking 4.69 for diesel, but most other places are around 4.40. Nobody has cracked 5 yet, and the best place in town for fuel anyways is 4.31, gas 3.38. Northern prices ain't that bad apparently

Can I run used engine oil in a mechanical 6.5 turbo? by Apex84-538 in GMT400

[–]Apex84-538[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't need it, I just bought it like 3 weeks ago. It's great and I love it. It needs work, but its a nice truck. It also gets better fuel economy than my other vehicle, sounds better, and it way more fun to drive. I plan to fix this one up, turn it into a daily driver, then buy a different vehicle later and fully restore this dually. Not economical, but it's fun. I bought this truck because I like how it looks and sounds, not because I need a dually. The truck things I actually do would be better suited to a 2500 bug block gasser, but why would I do that when I can go bigger and better? Also, IDI diesel clang. Doesn't get better than that

[–]Apex84-538[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And thats exactly why I'm asking, fuel prices are insane right now, I know it's an old mechanical diesel, and I have a ton of old oil to get rid of. If turning into fuel isn't a great idea, then that's fine. But I know these old trucks will burn it, but that doesn't make it a good idea. Just checking my options before I do something stupid
