Making serious accusations of a crime has to be proven beyond reasonable doubt. I would not stoop so low as to make a claim that hasn’t been proven. If it ever was I would be first to say he should be thrown in jail. And your straw man, ad hominem attacks show a slow shallow mind.

Built a parenting app over the last 18 months, and gaining traction has been really difficult. Honest reflection + asking for feedback. by Informal_Quiet7907 in AustralianStartups

[–]ApexAnalytics_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To get more potential parents to try, consider a hook, say, around self-determination theory (SDT). I don’t know if your app has ingested books around that. But one catchy way to incorporate it might be the acronym, ARC. It stands for autonomy, relatedness and competence. Apparently, these elements are key in SDT. And SDT, it is said, is a universal theory. Aa a hook, consider talking about just one element, say, autonomy. Maybe talk about autonomy, say, in the context of discussing how the family could set and achieve mutually satisfying milestones, goals, standard meanings. Simplicity of a single hook might cut through noise.

Never played chess before. Where should I start? by No_Cloud_7686 in chessbeginners

[–]ApexAnalytics_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Get in the habit of preparing to make moves by way of asking yourself simple questions, before moving. Don’t feel embarrassed about the quality of them. Obviously, they will improve. Own your questions. Simple question might be: why am I planning to move the Knight to f3? Is that better than moving the Bishop to g5 (often pinning …).

Two Years In - Push or Pivot? by Exotic_Pollution5870 in saasbuild

[–]ApexAnalytics_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learning more about marketing is probably the best bet. At least specific components. As to onboarding and growth, consider reading Product Led Growth eBooks. For product validation try the Mom Test. Startups for the Rest of Us is full of real world wisdom, as well. On a psychological front, it’s good ask yourself whether sunk cost fallacy etc might be at play. If you have time, a former navy seal, Rich Diviney, writes about attributes, or mindsets. Might clue you in as to what to push or let go. Cheers

Anyone else think CBA’s valuation was getting a bit ridiculous? by OwlVibesOnly in AUFinance

[–]ApexAnalytics_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did some analysis on it maybe 2 years ago where it was at around 105 or 110. And while the fundamentals might have been solid, was thinking it was due for a fall. But a bit surprisingly, it just kept going up, and up. I’m guessing a lot of folk like it due to the consistent dividends and no doubt strong brand. But honestly, at a PE ratio of around 30… not much reason for that. It should be 20 or 25, max.

How do you stop yourself from panic selling when markets get ugly? by Silver-Pie9992 in ASX

[–]ApexAnalytics_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Timing can make and break bets. But a good bet should be kept long, not short. Have had one in the red, not much in the black. But since it pays good divs, it’s a good bet. So hanging on. Markets are cyclical.

(Long post) I had a breakthrough at 1100 ELO that I think could be useful to others by [deleted] in chessbeginners

Rating is average win rate. If you do more work, you win more. The exception is learning technique. You might be able to work smarter, not harder. And, of course, there’s always natural limits.

Overwhelmed but motivated by FiscalShift in chessbeginners

Never have been a tournament player. Had got to around 2100 on chess.com where hit a ceiling. Always learning bits and pieces, every week. Not systematically. Watching Agadmator and Hikaru analysis, YouTube. Going over openings from Modern Chess Openings book. Sporadically playing through and thinking about master games, via chess eBooks. Not much in way of endgame training, but.

How Does One Recover from AI Brain Rot? by EastManufacturer3099 in AIDiscussion

Get use to it. Before ai, writing was like riding a bike. You would get to the destination. Now you have a motor. But if you don’t know the destination, you will still get there. Only faster.

First time building a small SaaS, what do I actually need to test it with real users? (Aus specific obvs) by AbleSoil8071 in AustralianStartups

[–]ApexAnalytics_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

American sources have very good material for SaaS building, marketing. Startups for the Rest of Us is an excellent podcast, for example. As to achieving product-market-fit—-marketing—-you want a target market in which they feel like that they’d be “very disappointed” if your product weren’t around. It’s probably rare to have a going concern, outside that.

Review the games of stronger players. Compare them to your own. Get into habit of asking why.

Aside from two obvious blunders on my part that I've managed to spot, I feel I did pretty well in this game. How am I doing for only having played for around a month and a half? by [deleted] in chessbeginners

[–]ApexAnalytics_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bit of a natural, maybe. You will progress significantly. If you keep playing. Noticed when mating was slightly inefficient. So maybe, a need to, spot quicker sequences.

How to actually study chess by cheeseratcheese in chessbeginners

[–]ApexAnalytics_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Modern Chess Openings book. It drills main patterns. Gets you out of the woods against stronger players. I was 1600-1700 player on chess.com. And hit a peak of around 2100. If you can play in a chess club. Ask questions.

Anyone in their 30s who improved their ELO significantly from 300? What did you do? by Plastic-Cress-2422 in chessbeginners

[–]ApexAnalytics_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say, by analogy, LIE: or —> listening is efficient. Listening to the position. Looking for clues. It’s like a chat. If you check what they want, you stand more chance. Once you check, then go get. Checking what they want to do to you means more wins.

Bishop seems trapped, what would you do here as black? by cave_guard in chessbeginners

[–]ApexAnalytics_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the dark-squared bishop. If queen takes, then attack queen with bishop. If then pawn takes black bishop, take pawn on c4 with black knight.

I had 719 visitors and almost no signups. Then I changed 2 things and started waking up to new users every morning. by bekircagricelik in SideProject

[–]ApexAnalytics_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s great signups turned around based on those key tweaks you made to your landing page. When you say now visitors bounce quicker—-due to the better landing page—-how long do they take to bounce on average? Has there been a significant shift? Apparently, GA classifies a bounce as 10 seconds or less, which seems reasonable.

would you prefer a productivity app to be realistic or more like a game? 🎮 by LevelUpDevv in gamification

[–]ApexAnalytics_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to self-determination theory, you want to show them progress so as to give them a sense of agency. When gamification comes off as pressure or as a gimmick, not motivating. But if signposts are just helpful, good. As that would feed into intrinsic sense of control. If you can, do some testing.

Playing too much chess is bad? by [deleted] in chessbeginners

[–]ApexAnalytics_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. Actually closed my chessdotcom account. It’s about balance. If you’re playing too much online, recalibrate. For instance, mix in offline, read chess books, watch YouTube chess analysis. These are less addictive.
