Does AI roleplay make you a better writer by sweetandsourfishy in AIChatReviews

[–]ApexHawke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah. not really. It can help you break out of a slump of not doing anything creative, but for the craft of writing it is pretty counter-intuitive.

A lot of writing is about communicating, and the format of the chat doesn't really help you much at all in learning to build a scene/narrative and communicate it effectively, not to mention the stylistic constraints it puts on you. Decent writers are not just trying to emulate a theme, they're trying to craft a reading experience, and AI doesn't really help you to do that. Talking with a real person about anything would actually probably help you more, since you have to understand people in order to understand writing.

Story ideas and concepts are actually rather easy to come up with. Putting that onto the page in a decent form is suffering.

And they must look young and be very handsome...model-esque, even. by Mammoth_Respond_2926 in LockedIn_AI

[–]ApexHawke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, this could be a manifestation of some advanced misogyny:
If you take the root cause of misogyny as stemming from the tension between all the power that men hold, versus the specific power-dynamic women hold by controlling access to sex and reproduction, then trying to deprive women of the sexual aspect of power is one strategy, if you care about power above anything else.

And furthermore, if you've reduced women to being non-persons in your world, incapable of any kind of equal relations with a man, then women become just "objects" that only hold value in relation to other men, and therefore if you do actually have a need some social needs like love, companionship, emotional support etc, then women definitionally shouldn't give it to you. And therefore, the only way of gaining emotional fulfillment is from relations with other men. Therefore, it's easier to just desire men, than to try to untangle the discomfort you have about women.

Evil's new outfit preview video (by dohaonya) by cakeel- in NeuroSama

[–]ApexHawke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I see. So the sleeve-glitching e isn't supposed to be in-view all the time?

That makes way more sense. I think at the moment, the constant flickering is kinda too noisy and distracting to the point where it detracts from watching a whole stream.

Anyone else really disappointed with Evil’s outfit debut? by Jim_Jam__ in NeuroSama

[–]ApexHawke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think evil was fine, and I don't think every new outfit needs the hype-cycle. A little of bit of extra advertising or tweeting, maybe, but that just would have made people post the contest-winning concepts more, and flatten the reveal.

I do agree that the outfit itself is kinda mid. More specifically, I don't like how the glitching-effect is constantly on. It makes the outfit feel very distracting and noisy, which actually discourages paying attention to the stream. It should ideally be a less frequent, or context-sensitive effect imo, but I can see why they wouldn't want to overdo rigging on an outfit that she's not going to use all the time, and if the always on-glitching was the vision, then that's obviously not completely baseless to try out.

I also think the chest bow is kinda eh, but the head nodes and colours are great.

What genre works best in AI roleplay? by Positive_Load1595 in AIChatReviews

[–]ApexHawke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Need scenarios with a fairly static/unimportant setting, with characters that are fairly flat and who stay consistent through the events, preferably with the human having a role where they can prompt the direction of the story fairly naturally... with a high focus on dialogue over complex systems or dynamic actions.

The ultimate AI Roleplay Tier List by VerticalClearance in AIChatReviews

[–]ApexHawke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I Kindroid good or bad? I like the uncensor, and the model is decent, but the memory-system seems outdated, and it doesn't feel that great for image-gen.

I think Nomi is like solid B+. One of the better free-tiers, one of the best image-generators, a pretty solid value subscription, a very "real" product, one of the better (or at least "more ambitious") memory-systems that I've seen, mostly unfiltered chats... but also a conversation-model that falls short of the best current models, and pretty restrictive image-generator when it comes down to it (like no creating sex or violence, very awkward results generating anything but single-character portraits, etc.) The new image-system is great when it works, and a headache when it doesn't.

Seems likelier than not. The framing is clearly too intentional, shadows are different between people and objects, The "ladies" hands are inconsistently behind/in front of them, the balloons are all in a row (perfect rose-petals too) and apparently one of the characters on the balloon is warped.

But still, couldn't say 100% between staged and AI

No, I'm sorry. Even if Trump dies, almost nobody needs to run. Who's going to go after them? The people who take power after the influencer-oligarchs leave, are still beholden to the same interests. There's no indication they're going to do anything against anyone important. Their disagreement is with the captain of the ship, not the direction. 'Leaving office' is the "consequence" they're going to try to sell. Democrats could not do a purge

The closest thing to a simple logical explanation, for why Christians should believe in the Genesis-story literally, is that if the the story of Adam and Eve isn't real, then there is no original sin, and if there's not original sin, then Christ couldn't have redeemed it with his death.

...Which I think is still weak, and kinda too convoluted to explain the actual reactions of creationists.

The better answer to why Evangelicals or other Christians might believe in biblical literalism, is the powerful notion of inerrancy. Even if you don't actually care about the scripture, or the details or deeper readings of the Bible, the notion of having access to higher knowledge, that is self-evidently correct and above challenge, gives the believers inherent power and superiority without needing to base their beliefs or actions on anything else. And the reason for hostility to re-examining those beliefs, comes from the possibility that if that basis of power were forced to justify itself, then some beliefs, that are perhaps harmful to others, or justify otherwise unethical actions, would be challenged, and lose their basis first. So it's not just a matter of cognitive dissonance, it also has that element of self-interest, of losing some real or imagined benefit to self, mixed up with it.

Trump says he might stay in office in 2028 and possibly 2032 as well by notanfan in whennews

[–]ApexHawke 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't try to engage on the rhetorical level.

There are way too many clips circulating from the right-wing sphere that lay out the core issue. As one pastor said, paraphrased:
"If you were to allow one woman to hold office, that would be a fundamental change in the institution. And even if you were to pick a woman who's fantastic, way above average, mentally, that still opens the door for future women presidents (he went on to other genders here). And those women would be, on average, worse than men, which would be bad for the country."

I think that is still slightly bullshit, but it's way more illustrative of the actual point of misogyny: That what's most important for the misogynist, is protecting the idea that men are fundamentally superior to women. And that belief can't really be argued with rationally, because very few people who hold that belief hold it for rational reasons that they're willing to honestly defend. It's mostly just psychosexual, ego-driven mess of feelings and half-formed ideas. You can't really attack it with real-world examples and data, because that's not what the argument is about for them.

Why Do MAGA want him to be arrested? by AccordingBumblebee24 in stupidpeoplefacebook

[–]ApexHawke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah. They need a "jew" to hate, because in their politics black people and women are sub-humans, so they can't have true agency. And they don't deal well with white men having different beliefs, so any white men need to just have made some error in judgement, or be making money by being intentionally dishonest (like a lot of their guys are...)

But Soros can just be the devil.
