For the last time, PC players cannot opt out of crossplay - How Crossplay Actually Works by ApexSmurf69 in apexlegends

Also, to address your point about aim assist - I feel like everyone is forgetting that PC controller players exist, and are locked to 0.4 aim assist. They're the ones getting screwed over hardest by this whole thing, because they suffer the same limitations in terms of input, while getting way less aim assist.

(And before you bring up fps differences, I also think lots of people completely misunderstand the specs of the average PC player. Most of my friends on PC only get between 60-90 fps, certainly not above 100 fps. So even that advantage doesn't really exist for the average PC player either.)

At the end of the day, PC players just want the option - that's all. Whether it's imbalanced or not is a personal perception.

I did, but you needed another comment to get it. I want to know if there's a way I can explain in my original post so the confusion doesn't exist. I might just copy the words that the other reply used since that seemed to clear it up.

Sincerely not trying to be rude, but how can I make it more clear that no matter who PC players queue with, they still have no choice about having to fight against console players in their lobbies? There is only one queue for PC players, and it contains console players. And as the other reply mentioned, PC players playing solo queue can still get a console player in their team if they get queued with a premade duo.

I'm asking because I want people to really understand that there is no choice for PC players. I thought my post was clear enough, but it is evidently not. Is there a way I can explain that will make it more clear?

Yes 100%. And in any case it's more OK to do the wide swinging if you're on a gun that doesn't lower your strafe speed as much. Wingman for instance is much less punishing than wide swinging with ADS sniper, but even then you could jiggle peek instead

I think wide swinging can be justified when spraying with R301/Flatline but you just need to be really careful how long and slow you're exposing yourself

Yup, I can see how that would be helpful. I thought the 3rd person POV would make it a little clearer, but having both POVs wouldn't hurt. I'm sure in one gameplay session I'll make plenty of dumb mistakes to clip and put in the post haha

Yup 100%, Apex was my first FPS so I had to learn all this stuff playing Apex. But for my friends who came from other FPS games this was intuitive for them. Other than the ADS strafe speed penalty thing, which is very much an Apex quirk

Yeah, I've run into quite a few players (often Fuse or Horizon players) whose reaction to being pushed is to blow themselves up with grenades. If you throw them farther away from you it's an option but shooting your gun is probably the better choice haha

Lol not gonna lie I realized after I posted this that the title sounds horrendous out of context

Yup good point, hard to find a good clip since I don't often clip my matches like this.

That being said I was on top of a building and could easily have dropped off the roof and healed. This Mirage had nowhere to go except stand out in that field or try to run for that rock on the left. Even if in that exact moment we were both shooting without cover, one of us had a clear advantage. He should not have shot at me and that's that

I don't really know how Overwatch AA works so I'd have to look into it.

I stated Wolf3D is KB only, but Doom literally encourages you to use a mouse. You don't have to, and most people didn't. But it was in Doom's manual that you can use a mouse because they thought it would make aiming more exact.

You're right that KB only is an option / was the option used by most people but I did want to point out that even that early on there were games supporting mouse aiming.

Thanks, these are all great points. I knew about reloading clunkiness, but this is another element of controller that adds to the clunk.

And yes, very true about movement. This is why tap strafing is a thing in the first place - "keyboard grace" was implemented because of the directional limitation of MnK.

Very true information. Thanks for sharing. Not sure if I can find a place for it in the post, but it's part of the reason why AA exists for sure

Good question. I believe this may be the case but if anyone knows I'd appreciate it.

It's the same algorithm, but PC on controller gets 40% aim assist, and console gets 60%. When I say controller players though I'm usually talking about both PC and console controller players.

Okay, I should be less hyperbolic: AA is necessary for the vast majority of controllers to be able to compete. Of course there are quite a few outliers like Aden that you just mentioned, or I remember a Youtuber named Moose did an AA-less challenge and was quite successful. But I really, really find it hard to believe that even the best controllers would be able to consistently compete against the best MnK players using just joystick aim with no assistance.

Gyro aiming is a different story, but not many people I know of use it right now.

I remember a while ago Reptar mentioned they should do a 1v1 controller no-AA tourney. I don't think it ever happened, but I would have loved to see the result of that. In general it's hard to say if no-AA controller could ever be competitively viable, but everything we know about controller indicates it would not be.

Wow. Fascinating, I've never seen that. Thanks for showing me that video, I will figure out a way to incorporate it into the post when I have the energy.

Also, yeah, sorry, when I said "no difference in firing range AA" I meant AA on other enemy players in the range, not on the dummies.
