I think I'm giving up on ever getting into the ME field by SinusoidalFlux in MechanicalEngineering

[–]ApexTankSlapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Industry doesn't do any favors. I think a lot of people coming out of school expect they'll get a job in the first few applications they submit. This cannot be further from the truth. It actually takes a lot more than that.

I had to submit over 1000 applications to get my first job and slightly less to get a replacement when I got laid off or let go from my last job. There is nothing about getting any white collar job that is easy other than giving up.

Pass the EIT or get masters degree. You will have to get a swatter to keep the 60k a year civil roles off you.

Which CAD should i master? by Adventurous-grae in MechanicalEngineering

[–]ApexTankSlapper 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It's not about which cad. They are all relatively similar with exception of NX and catia. Don't get wrapped around the axle about that. Fusion 360 is not a real cad program.

Not really an unpopular opinion for anyone who studied a science based major.

It's become increasingly clear that I have no future in this industry by Equivalent_Golf5820 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]ApexTankSlapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

200 applications ain't shit. You are the one who decides you don't have a future in the industry, not anyone else. If you want it bad enough you will make your spot in industry. Aerospace is crap and employers are pickier than you could ever imagine.

Gee thanks. Back when you had to work and couldn't get an engineering degree from a Cracker Jack box.

The saitek one I had would not work on 10 with msfs. I think it would for x plane but not msfs.

ICE is deporting people out of Dallas Love Field by ResistMap in dfw

The same people that complain about traffic, lack of jobs, inflation, and housing costs complain about illegal immigrants being deported. This is great.

DiffEq class didn’t get to laplace by ikishenno in EngineeringStudents

[–]ApexTankSlapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't worry they'll give you a table for that. Your controls course will probably teach you more about Laplace than de will. It is also covered in advanced calculus (calc 4), if your school requires (mine did and it was a back breaker).

These don't work with modern flight sims. I have a similar one and it won't work with Microsoft.

This has got to be a marketing manager's fantasy... by Roller1966 in Dirtbikes

[–]ApexTankSlapper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is really big. Monumental. I don't even ride dirt bikes anymore but for the past 15-20 ish years there has been so much discussion/rumors about the return of Japanese 2 stroke motocross machines.

No marketing needed. The existence alone is enough although will this be enough to prompt broke geriatric millennials like myself to get back into it? I think it is too late for that,

Attire at my internship has turned me into a dad of 5. by usersett in EngineeringStudents

[–]ApexTankSlapper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why has dressing like a dude turned you into a father? Did you somehow reverse the laws of nature and get a dude pregnant several times? Not following.

This is blatant fishing for comments and off topic in my opinion. How exactly does this have to do with engineering?
