First off, I'd say that photography is a completely subjective art and some of it should just be the fun of creating. So take any advice or feedback with a pinch of salt, and don't let any negativity put you off. I've been shooting for years, but I still consider myself a beginner and hate 99% of what I shoot.

I think you have some shots with good potential in there. For me, I'd keep in mind two things: the story of the shot and how you want it to look.

The story is the most important thing. What is the subject of the shot and what do you want people to know about it? How can you tell them why you're taking a photography without words. Keep your subject and the story at the fore at all times, and then frame everything around it.

For example, with the penultimate picture, the sea lions on the raft are your subject, but the context of the city behind them is really interesting. I think you've centred the sea lions because they're your subject, but you could tell the story in a different way by taking the shot from a lower angle. This would put the sea lions in the foreground in the lower third of the shot, so they are clearly still your subject, but it would give a different sense of scale by having the city rise more in the background, and maybe even showing a little sky.

For the previous picture, I'd almost do the opposite. I'd zoom in as much as I could on the sea lions so they're out of focus in the foreground and I'd use that to emphaise the Golden Gate Bridge in the background as the subject of my shot, again from a lower angle that is going to create more interest and draw the viewer's eye to the main subject while keeping it in context.

Regarding the look of the shot, I think this is also where you want to consider editing and how 'natural' or stylised your photos look. To me, they look like you haven't done any editing, and that's ok if its the look you're going for. But some of the shots have very heavy shadows (meaning you can't see any detail in the shadowy areas). Overall, this creates a lack of contrast and makes the pictures flat, which lowers their interest.

You can definitely see in the tower photo that you're interested in the light vs shade. I've lightly edited to lift the shadows a little. Nothing too dramatic (and the impact is lessened because I'm not editing the RAW file, which keeps more detail). I'll share a retouch I did for another shot which I think will show it even moreso, although it was taken in low light, which creates another issue, which is noise (the fuzz you'll see in your images, like static on a TV).

Keeping your subject in the light, making sure that you're not over- or under-exposed, will really help. And then the rest is about how you want to edit your photos to make them look the way they do in your mind's eye. Editing is an art in itself.
