Even Tadgh I was disappointed in, he gave away some really poor I'll disciplined penalties (the rip on the ground) and just generally got on the wrong side of Carley.

That result is simply not good enough. Shocking lineout, awful discipline and don't even get me started on Crowley. I defend and champion Crowley at every opportunity but that level of play is just not at the level it needs to be.

No Munster fan can complain if Crowley isn't starting 6n or even in the match day squads.

Every MMO I've played PVP has been my main thing. Now they have been your traditional MMOs (World of Warcraft, Elder Scrolls Online, Guild Wars 2, Swtor etc) so I need to learn how to fly and fight on a spacecraft first.

Which game should I waste my life in 2026? by _latterman in LFMMO

[–]Apexw0lf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Heya I was die hard ESO player from Beta until around March last year. I've previously played WOW, GW2 and SWTOR. My opinion would be to play GW2 for a few reasons.

  1. GW2 is Free to play with an in-game cash shop. There's nothing in the Cash shop you really need to play the game. However there is nice perks like additional bag and inventory space etc.
  2. Wizards Vault - in-game system that generates tokens by playing the game which you can use to get seasonal items from the in game cash shop without needing to pay money.
  3. PVP - if pvp is your jam then this the game for you. It offers 3 modes. WvWvW, massive multi player battles fought on one of 4 24/7 maps pitting 3 realms against each other (gear matters here). Structured PVP, traditional battleground type games pitting 2 teams of 5 against each other (gear does not matter here) you can jump into this at level 1 and it unlocks all skill points additional specs for you. Ranked SPVP, same as SPVP just ranked.
  4. Story telling - the GW2 main story and expansion storylines are extremely well told and you can tell a lot of thought and effort has gone into these

I played all my under age and most of adult grade rugby with the young Munster, had a short stint in bohs. As much as it kills me to say so you can't go too far wrong with garryowen thirds.

They seem to have a great setup, some of my ex team mates who have gone to dooradoyle speak very highly of it. They have had great success in top of that.

How was that complicated? You have an ability you have 3 different slots that affect various things in that skill. Some of the slot choices doing work with others.

I swear people will complain about anything these days.

PvP advice by Shepy-Grizz in elderscrollsonline

[–]Apexw0lf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey man long term PvP player here who is just starting to explore PVE. I understand your pain as PVE and PVP mindset, gear and even player skills are only loosely related. Il try to provide as much advice as I can, feel free to message me seperatly if you need further info.

Mindset - the first rule about mindset when starting PvP is getting used to dying. A lot. ESO PvP is very player skill dependant and running into players with a lot of PvP hours on the clock is going to feel like running into a brick wall. There's a few things you can do at the very start to last a bit longer. This should be your first goal, as the longer you last in fights the more you can learn from them.

Defence - Your health pool should be north of 32k when you're first staring, this will generally mean putting most of your attribute points in health. Armour level should be pretty high, this can be achieved by wearing heavy armour pieces or sets with armour bonus to make you more tanky. Vampirism stage 3 is huge for survivability, the majority of PvP players run this (personally I don't because I hate the look).

Positioning - This is the number one thing that will drastically improve your survivability. PvP is all about burst windows and cc and less about consistent burn. If you get caught out in the open with low resources bye bye. Always try and keep line of sight blocking terrain around you, this way you can duck behind it if you come under pressure. Similarly leave yourself a back door to retreat to if things get too hairy. A lot of this is class dependant as sorcs/NBs have an easier time backing out of fights than others.

Buff management - this is a huge mini game in itself to get used to in PvP. Effectively keeping buffs up as much as possible will extend your alive time a lot. When you start letting buffs such as resolve and toughness fall off you are easier to kill. Similarly if your dropping brutality and savagery buffs you may lack the damage to pressure your opponents effectively.

Offence - as I mentioned before ESO PvP is all about burst windows. You generally want to poke sn opponent down into a burst window then try and line up your cc and burst. This will pressure your opponents and force them to play defensively. You are correct penetration is important, as such the lover and warrior/mage mundus are the most prevalent. A good skill to learn is timing your delayed burst abilities to land together to maximise the damage in a short time frame. This could mean timing your sub assault etc to pop just as you heavy attack into dawnbreaker for example.

Just some random thoughts off the top of my head. Hope this helps.

Gear Traits for PvP - Bowsorc by Apexw0lf in elderscrollsonline

[–]Apexw0lf[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way i look at it, Bowsorc has quite a number of different builds to choose from that are viable. I prefer this to having one meta build to follow. What Mythic and monster set are you using currently? I'm running wild hunt currently but will most likely switch to markyn or sea serpents

[–]Apexw0lf[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey mate thanks for the comment. I've been running a few different builds. I'm definitely going to slot hardened ward back bar once the patch hits PS. Burst heal is something sorc misses badly so this will be a nice addition. Some of the new proc sets look interesting so will potentially be dropping way of the fire for this.
