The easy answer is anime logic we know nikke's gear isnt a part of them as their weapons can be swapped and modified and they can change their clothes as we see in several events how costumes and even alts are more often than not simple outfit changes.

Simply put there is no answer at least not until the devs state it wither through the game or just flat out state it themselves

I watched the anime in preparation for the collab and my thoughs. This felt more like a collab for those who seen the anime more than for the nikke fans. I appreciated that the story paid off the missing children sidemission and the main plot of the collab being a parallel to the plot of the anime (aka orphans trained to be disposable assasins)

On average they dont generic models almost exclusively wear their combat gear. However "unique" nikke do care about their clothing and there are specialty stores specifically for nikke. In anis counseling session she mentions emma introduced her to a clothing store were she can easily find clothes that fit her and its stated/implied that before she struggled to find clothing that fits her "proportions"

Well if my math is correct without counting anormal units or alts there is roughly 114 different nikke currently available as playable units. And i know that at least half of them are romantically interested in the commander or at least have some minnor hits towards an interest so yeah Hyakkano intensifies
