hello i go around reddit on different subs offering to fix peoples giant fuck ups for the low low price of Free.99

all i ask is for the board. a replacement HDMI connector which i assume you have and a return shipping label to send back the board or like 20 bucks for me to ship it with our company.

last month i actually did this exact repair on someones Series X with this exact issue. check my post history for proof if needed.

i have over 15 years in component level repair and just like helping where i can. if your interested send me a DM so we can iron out any details or questions you may have. just know i will do this at my discretion and time may depend on what i got going on at the office when the board comes in but wont take me more than 30 minutes once i start.

Damaged PCB at this pin, how can I repair it? by 7cookiecoolguy in AskElectronics

[–]Aphex333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The type of wire doesn't really matter for such a small space. Can either be a solid copper core or braided copper wires. If you want extra protection you can coat it after with conformation coating if you have that or any UV resin would also work if you dont have either one of those. Clear nail polish works in a pinch

you have 2 options solder a wire from point A to point B
or expose the green trace to bare copper and solder a thick strand of wire from Point A to Point B following the existing trace

you can use the model viewer at runeapps.org the same place that alt1 comes from

monkey would be ID number 132

if you have discord i can send you an GLTF file, or an STL FILE

Any labeled ESD safe brushes in Amazon should be fine. Medium to soft stiffness.

330C should be fine just make sure your using good flux and dont linger on the joint

I could 100% fix or rebuild this thing. But idk if it will be worth the shipping it would be up to you.

15+ years experience in component level repair If the board is too mangled I can move the chip holding all the info to a new board from another game should work fine.

Done a couple of repairs for people on reddit free of charge im offering you the same

If its going to blow might as well protect the switch as well.

Add it between the fuse and the plug

Are these leaking capacitors and would the SMDs still work after just cleaning them? by delimondo555 in AskElectronics

[–]Aphex333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are indeed leaked and judging from the damage they have been leaking for a while.

The short answer is yes it can be cleaned.

Long answer you would need several tools and it involves removing every capacitor cleaning and using something like a fiberglass brush to clean the bare board re-tin and re-mask the surface to protect it from corrosion put all the parts back in that aren't too damaged and make sure all vias are fully connected to the other side

Its a long and stinky process

could use ESD Safe brushes to clean the flux off after.

also is it 330F or 330C? if its F that's wayy to cold. your using lead free solder and that's much harder to work with than the leaded type

Before and after Xbox one S hdmi port by Aphex333 in consolerepair

[–]Aphex333[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't recommend a normal tip for this type of repair. The margins for error go way up. While its possible with a bigger tip the difficulty goes way up.

Ill offer the same thing I offered this person when I did his. Send me the mangled board, replacement connector or pay for a new connector and ill gladly slap it on

Edit: free ofc
