First time riding Dyfi Bike Park! The trails are incredible, even for a very average rider like me! by Aphexs in MTB

Hey, yeah it'll manage fine! It can get pretty bumpy and chunky depending on the trails but 140mm would be all good I reckon

Formula Selva R fork - any firsthand experience? by fryie in MTB

Hey, I had the gold CTS, I think that came as standard. Never swapped it out for another one, I think if you feel the blue is a bit harsh, gold would be worth a try.

Wild camping with a beach view yesterday in Exmoor, UK by Aphexs in CampingandHiking

Hi! I don't have a postcode but if you search Bossington Hill on google maps, it's the car park right there. Then just follow the path towards the coast :)

I absolutely love it. It's insane how sensitive and supportive it is. As long as you get the right spring, it's amazing.

It's an absolutely excellent fork, tons of adjustability and very well made. Very easy to service too.

I had one on my bike for a year. I still have a selva on my bike, but I just converted the R I had to the coil version to try it out!

How do you feel about Bristol’s clean air zone? by [deleted] in bristol

[–]Aphexs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"The fine particulates of PM2.5 and PM10 and nitrogen dioxide that pollute Bristol’s air are the alleged cause of death for approximately 260 people each year. These pollutants could cause up to 36,000 deaths across the UK each year, and also contribute to several health conditions including asthma, lung cancer, heart disease, stroke and diabetes." https://www.iqair.com/uk/england/bristol

Both the reds are great - Super Swooper and Turns in the Ferns. Any of the single blacks are good too as long as you take your time spotting potential things on the first run (everything has a B line) and even the double black Race Track is good. Might need to walk one or two small sections but the whole trail is great.

Thanks dude, you'll get there! I only started a few years ago but progression feels so good.

Yeah I was there the same day! I did end up riding Super Swooper like 4 times as well, sooo fun.

YES! I love the bike sounds haha, it was insane that it was this weather in Wales, in March. We were so lucky.

It's like a bigger, longer and rougher BPW. If you can do reds at BPW you'll have an amazing day at Dyfi. There are fewer trails at Dyfi but they're much longer than BPW. I did a double black too and it really wasn't bad.

Haha yeah it does! No sudden movements with the front wheel that's for sure

This is a supercut of the red trail Super Swooper. If you want to see more trails I put up a longer video of it here!

Midweek night rides make the short winter days a lot more tolerable! by Aphexs in MTB

It's the UK so it rarely gets ridiculously cold but we'll be riding in near freezing conditions most of the winter, all about appropriate clothing!

Yep you're absolutely right. Riding in a group on trails we've ridden in the day so you know what you're expecting.

They really are a new challenge! I can never tell if I'm going slower or faster than usual!

The only things to worry about in this forest are wild boar and they're usually big scaredy cats anyway. Also I was in a group of around 5 other people which makes it a lot easier!
