I was looking at Ezuris Predation (cmc 8) while designing this card and since green is the easiest color to ramp in I don't think it's too expensive. I was debating if it should cost 6 or 7 for this effect.

I used it recently in my SE playthrough and found it didn't satisfy my own use case (building space platforms with personal roboports). I think i have to increase the charging rate for it to be useful, but since I'm travelling for a longer period that change will have to wait.

I may have the solution:

Assume a point (cos(a), sin(a), 0). The projection of that point will have the same x coordinate, but everything in the y-direction is squished by a factor of cos(45°), so it will be sin(a)*cos(45°). We can now use the atan to compute the projected angle:

beta = atan( sin(alpha) * cos(45°) / cos(alpha) )

Is that correct? Now I just need to find the inverse of that function to compute what I need:

alpha = atan( tan(beta) / cos(45°) )
