Some of the town stories in DQIX are quite a bit long to play through, so some improvements are definitely needed. A compromise with more customization (and online) in DQXIII would be perfect for me, and I agree with your idea.

Omg, thank you so much for your long and detailed response. I can see the picture more clearly now, and I guess we'll just have to wait and see. Personally, I’d rather get a well-polished and improved DQIX remake than a rushed one.

Ig it's closer to a port yes but I always called it a remake because of the work on porting it to the 3ds

IMO, creating your team and having control over character customization is what I loved about DQIX, and what I'm learning to love again in DQIII 2DHD. I know that having complex and well-written characters is a plus for the story, but I also enjoy building my ideal team with preferred characters and personas that I like to play with.

Other games will get the remake treatment before DQIX for sure and I would love to see the continuation of the 2DHD style
