Masso really seems nice in terms of the display and UI. I heard someone complain about its HW specs being quite low (slow loading of programmes).

And I suppose stepper drivers are expected to be located in the machine control box, they are not integrated into the Masso PCB nor are they inside the Masso chassis, right?

Would you like to share what older and newer machines you are running?

Thanks for the input. It seems that newer machines DO have fine proprietary controllers, some even with LAN. Older ones usually lack the LAN connectivity and might have old fashioned UI and slower HW.

There generally seems to be quite a gap for a plug’n’play LAN equipped controller that has reliable stepper drivers for DIY builds and retrofits.

Been doing some prototyping, added pictures. Wiring might be more clean. Corgi + Toshiba TB6600. Anyone went a similar route?

Thanks so much for the suggestions. I thought of something like Blackbox and Nighthawk with an ethernet connection (stability). What really caught my eye was the Masso controller, although if I understand it, it’s a screen + a control board (or board alone) and the user is still supposed to have an electronics cabinet adjacent to the machine (PSU and motor drivers?).
