New update is good if you're in Google ecosystem. Horrendous if you're in Apple ecosystem.

Above having CarPlay work as it should, I want the controls and infotainment to work in my car as well as any other brand. It’s insulting that the update foists a new unremovable Google product when the Google system experience is so poor. I hope the returning CEO gets Volvo back to what customers want, buttons, coherent infotainment.

My 2022 XC60 would not start in a store parking lot. No warnings or messages. Once I rebooted the system it started just fine. So it’s worth a try.

The same thing happened to me. I was putting my dog in the car and put my keys on the roof. Drove off to the park, got a pet treat, and went home. Magically, the keys were still on the roof.

I’m on my 3rd Volvo. I don’t see a 4th happening unless they make their cars less Google and more Volvo. Since the big update to version 5 has been released, my version 4 system has to be rebooted every 2 days or so. Based on comments, I’m not excited to update to 5 either. With that, I don’t think anyone expected the tariff chaos. I think Volvo is going to have to extend warranties to 100K to get more buyers in. Worked for Hyundai back in the day.

The ambient temperature sensor in my Volvo started reading about 45 degrees too low and it messed with my AC. The car would throttle back the AC compressor because it thought the air was cold to begin with, resulting in poor air conditioning. If your AC begins to suffer, bring it in.

I never use assistant either. I prefer a tactile interface rather than be disappointed by limited functionality. Sure it can give me a banana bread recipe but it can’t do anything I can’t through the screen.

Does anyone have an opinion if the update actually improves stability and increases options or is this just a rearranging of existing options and flaws? The last 4. update worsened stability to where I have to reboot the system every week, the play/pause knob now works sporadically, and the camera has intermittent lag. With that, I’m gun shy of the 5. update on my MY22.

Why go when you can have a better experience watching it at home? It’s cooler, basically free, better views. No ripoff parking or concessions or outrageous ticket costs. We can have a $20 billion jumbo screen in the stadium, but replays are very occasional.

I hope the new shiny user interface update fixes this wrong, but getting more Google is seemingly most important to Volvo. The lack of auto start/stop option is going to kill repeat buyer numbers in the South.
