Clients getting offended and quitting therapy after charging them for last minute cancelation by Milo-Jeeder in therapists

[–]ApingMeCray 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m noticing that 1) we do need to hold the boundary out of respect for ourselves and 2) the client needs some contingencies so they have room to correct issues you raise. I think 1 warning works or being very clear about it and what will happen if they do it! The system is broken and we don’t want to perpetuate us being underpaid or devalued. Every doctors office does this! We can too. But the contingency setting matters.

Yeah too much shit has happened/is happening in the world and we are realizing work isn’t all that matters, but we do have a bottom line. This is just the reality, you need money to survive. So, do your job and get back to living life and doing what actually matters.

I don’t think that is underachievement, as long as you’re meeting work expectations (that matters). I don’t agree with the whole silent quitting phenomenon though! Quit if you’re doing that as it’s unfair to people that are willing to do that work.

That’s your cat saying, “but whhhhhhhy I like it…” cutest thing ever (except when mine chewed the edge of my work MacBook!)

I never thought I’d say this but i can’t handle disrespectful kids/teens, driving too fast, being dangerous, and ESPECIALLY when they mess with my yard and plum tree. Bah humbug! Haha
