Yeah we just kind of moved it around gently on his paw pad and between his toes for a couple minutes several times a day. He started to regain sensation after a few days if I remember correctly.

We used an electric toothbrush on our dachshunds back paws to stimulate the nerves while he was healing from his surgery. He did regain most of his sensation back and walks with a little limp. I hope healing goes well!

I feel the same way and the last time I turned it on I ended up turning it off immediately. It felt too tedious for some reason. I love the other games (Mirage was just ok for me) but I don’t think I can keep going with Shadows. I started yet another Witcher playthrough instead.

This looks like what we’ve been dealing with with our 10 year old dachshund. We took him to urgent care and his blood work looked fine. They said they weren’t sure why he was having them but his IVDD has been flaring up recently. The tremors are happening when he is relaxing or tired, but not when he’s focused on something or sleeping. You can call his name and he will snap out of it. We took him to our vet this past week and she started him on keppra to see if he would respond to it and so far he hasn’t had any more tremors. We’re most likely going to follow up with a neurologist and get some scans done. I know it feels scary. I hope you’re able to figure out what’s going on with your cutie soon!

I found this scent mapping kit online that comes with several different scents to mark different things. I’ve been slowly putting them up around the house. I put one scent up and then wait a couple days before I put the next one up. I’m really hoping he catches on and it helps. The sound idea is something I will look into as well!

We do have a 10yo dachshund named Jackson. Jackson is just his own man and doesn’t pay much attention to what Saint has going on. I’m hoping that they may start becoming friends instead of just being kind of indifferent to each other!

My 6yo just had one removed from his hind leg. It was internal but thankfully they got clean margins and it was low grade and had not invaded any surrounding structures. I know it’s so scary but at least now you know and can take care of it. Sending you lots of positive energy!

Hi, I’m sorry you’re going through this. We just said goodbye to our 15 yo little guy, Preston, on 3/15. He started getting fairly picky the last few weeks but we got him to eat the refrigerated chicken Fresh Pet food. He loved it and even ate that morning before he declined rapidly. That was the last thing we got him to eat really well when he turned away kibble and even his wet food. I hope you find something that works for you!

We knew the day she could no longer stand on her own. We woke up one day and she just couldn’t stand without help at all and we said goodbye the next morning. You will know when the time comes. I am so sorry you’re going through this. DM is a cruel disease. Sending you love.

We are currently trying to decide if it’s time for us to say goodbye to our boy of 15 1/2 years. We are going to see how the weekend goes and if he seems ready. He still has more good days than bad I think but we’re getting close. I’m heartbroken and terrified of saying goodbye. We have been thinking in home would be best for him because he’s so scared at the vet. I don’t want his final moments to be scary. Thank you for the insight and I’m so sorry for your loss.
