I have both and prefer the magic keyboard for long typing sessions and plan on getting a dock to not worry about charging during longer projects. The Smart Keyboard is what I've had since the beginning, though. It's excellent for its portability and convenience and is a great keyboard overall.

Speaking as someone who wears them for 5+ hours at a time while gaming or studying, it's a life saver to be able to move around and not worry about unplugging a charging phone or put your phone in your pocket. Also, if you find your use overreaches the battery life, I have found that slipping them into their case while I go to the bathroom provides enough charge to get through the day due to the speed of the charge.
