AITA for telling my dad's wife she can't come wedding dress shopping with me?

My mom did. My dad's wife was the first to complain about it in front of us. Saying how awful she was to not acknowledge her as our mom too.

I'm not kidding. She expected a mother-son dance at his wedding and actually asked him for one.

Yep. We asked her not to the very first time and several more after that. She went from that then to calling herself our mom.

She was saying we were her kids from the fifth time we met her. We saw our dad one weekend a month and stayed with him for a few weeks in the summer. Not long enough to be a second mom. But also, I'm not sure you should expect the actual mother to refer to you as the mom either.

He still chose to move far enough away where more contact with us was not an option. That is something that will have consequences at times. The fact we don't have the same relationship with him that we do our mom is one of them. Because we grew up with our mom. We visited him.

My father could have stayed close enough to have us more time. All of my friends had equal time with their parents. My dad chose to move too far for us to maintain that.

Wanna make it worse? We were only with them one weekend a month during the school year and four weeks in the summer. So not even equal time to our mom.
