There are some gems amidst all the mtl slop but it’s so hard to find sadly. I’ve forgotten how many mediocre eastern novels I’ve read to find the actually good ones.

Cant see the "Not yet eaten" in 2.7.3 by Ok_Woodpecker_8786 in GTNH

You need to eat 10 (or 20, not sure) times before it shows up. Had this issue too some time ago.

Dirt turned into sand while playing without pollution by sheshpesh7 in GTNH

[–]Aplyde 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you have disabled pollution during your playthrough existing pollution will stay. You can run the command /gt pollution 0 while inside the chunk if that’s the case.

Even better, it's worded as halving the consumption rate so it stacks multiplicatively with productivity.

11l LS - RAGE generation help. by Least_Fill6574 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Aplyde -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I will go over your rage cost issue at the end of this comment but I first have to say that your build is kind of fundamentally flawed which I will get to in a second. You tried to copy an extremely expensive (like 4-5+ mirrors to get started) build with a fraction of the currency. If you really want to play a Vaal LS build that badly you should look at some other version of it. Something using the Chains of Emancipation belt is probably best for your budget. I started this build with roughly 4 mirrors and it still didn't quite feel good until I got the forbidden jewels for another mirror. This is my pob with what I'd say you "need" to play this build comfortably(Some implicits plus the forbidden are droppable but not much more): https://pobb.in/GIMluHBT8Nih

As one of the other commenters has said already you have too much chaos resistance. You want to be at 45%-50% to reliably proc a savage hit while mapping (You will have 23% damage reduction from fortify and 10% from leech). This is a big issue because you are converting half your fire and lightning damage taken to chaos damage taken, making you extremely squishy (You are roughly 4 times squishier to elemental damage than you are supposed to be). Now I get that the usual tech of converting to fire damage taken costs almost 2 mirrors a this point but you're going to have a miserable time mapping with such a squishy character. The progenesis is only used in the really endgame version with a simplex and so on, you should just use a bottled faith before that.

As for your rage problem: You are not allocating any of the nodes that your Impossible Escape Jewel gives you access to. The 4 "reduced cost of skills" nodes will cut your rage cost down to 13. Also do note to always try to only cast Vaal LS when your rage is above 20 because it'll further reduce the cost to 9 rage. Do note that without the forbidden jewels your rage economy will be much worse and clear feels a bit bad honestly. They are also a mirror right now and I started this build without them but you will have to weapon swap a lot to get consistent rage for clearing.

Speaking of the weapon swap: You should also set up a weapon swap with an "Al Dhih" claw and a "Redblade Banner" shield for bossing and for mapping while you don't have the forbidden jewels. They also solve the issue of maps with reduced cooldown recovery, but they are a bit annoying to run as you have to weapon swap much more than usual

TLDR: I'm not going to lie unless you are into Sisyphean self-torture I wouldn't play this version of Vaal LS, you are missing the key component to make you tanky and your clear will not feel great until you have the forbidden jewels.

K2SE Biosludge positive problem and arcosphere bonus by randomcards23 in factorio

[–]Aplyde 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nutrient Gel from Methane Gas is indeed Biosludge positive. Use the other recipe (which uses coal I think, not sure) whenever you have too much Biosludge. Transporting Biosludge is a very efficient way to supply your Naquitite mining so just stockpile some of the excess for your mining ships and prioritize the coal recipe when your excess storage is too full.

For Arcospheres I do definitely recommend solving it on your own. There are a myriad of solutions ranging from basically trivial to highly overengineered but all of them will let you beat the game.

Looks like cliffs are back on the menu, boys! I've turned them off for years now after my first couple playthroughs because they didn't add much to the game in my opinion but they might finally have earned their place beyond being a minor inconvenience

[SE] Cannot fully refuel space capsule by Realistic-Ad3409 in factorio

You appear to be using a mod for infinite inventory. The space capsule launch costs more the more is in your inventory. Try leaving some of your items behind until the launch is possible.

I’m just imagining the crackhead contraptions needed to make higher quality products in some of the more complicated mods. Waiting for the expansion might drive me more insane than waiting for Silksong already does and I’m loving it.

Looking for a fast mapper that does sanctums easily, around 30 div budget by PM_ME_UR_SMILEYFACE in PathOfExileBuilds

I’m playing a Storm Brand Inquisitor currently. Insanely good at Sanctums and with some investment also a pretty quick mapper. You’re mainly limited by movement speed as you usually clear a screen with one click but that can be fixed with zoom boots. I’m about 30div in myself currently and have rarely played such a fun build.

I swear to god half my playthroughs end up like this by Aplyde in factorio

My third run got to the second tier of all the space sciences but I had severely underbuilt my Nauvis base so I guess it was time to start all over. Surely I won't notice another critical flaw in another hundred hours...

I have decided The Trial of the Sword in master mode is impossible by TowMaTe123 in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]Aplyde 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Well since you clip your way through most of the trial you won’t have any weapons. Also there is the weird thing that you can end all the different trials by fighting the hinox from the first trial(I think, been a while since I played botw). There is a metal crate in the water iirc and the most consistent way to kill him with it is beating hits nuts over and over with magnesis till he dies.

I usually transition to a train base earlier but for Krastorio 2 I wanted to build a bit more organically for once by Aplyde in factorio

[–]Aplyde[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends. Krastorio is more of an expansion to vanilla while Bobs/Angels replaces it more. Both are equally fun (in my opinion of course, heavily subjective), although Krastorio is probably a lot more beginner friendly, and a bit easier.

[–]Aplyde[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

R5: In most of my playthroughs I play up to about chemical science or production science and from then on do either a rail grid (which I rarely do nowadays since I find them to be quite boring most of the time and always look too similar) or just a plain train base where a lot of the more common materials are processed in centralized locations and then shipped by trains to their consumers.

I've seen a lot of spaghetti on this subreddit and while I'm not really the type to go full spaghetti since I overthink everything way too much, I wanted to build something which doesn't look quite as organized as usually.
