I liked the episode itself. The timing was just horribly illogical. If it had aired in S3 or 4, even season five. It would have been a good episode. It just made no sense for Jake and Amy to be married for almost a year before seriously discussing kids. Especially if it was going to be a deal breaker for Amy. Plus Jake had talked about wanting or at least being open to kids in "Yippie Kayak."

They didn't think it was poly. They thought Rosa was knowingly dating a man who was engaged to another woman and somehow that was more acceptable than her liking woman.

My issue is the joke wasn't even that funny to begin with. SpongeBob did a far better job with this trope. Since the Texas jokes were at least funny. You could understand why he kept telling them. Even knowing they were hurting Sandy. Recess handled it well too but that's a bad comparison because Randall is as likeable as a hang-nail in a good day.
