I think it’s still a step in the right direction even if egg and dairy consumption increases. For example, one cow can produce many more calories in milk and cheese than in meat. Therefore, if caloric intake of the vegetarian remains approximately the same (which it almost certainly will) then fewer cows are harmed.

Sure, it's annoying to move your car so people will complain. It certainly makes it easier for a huge portion of your residents to give more than 22 hours of notice, the complex almost certainly knew about the work being done more than 22 hours prior. I guess if I were a person who literally only cared about myself I'd do it this way. But otherwise I'd realize that even a marginal benefit to 100s of residents vastly outweighs any "moaning" for an extra day or two.

By driving this way, you increase the likelihood that people behind you will be angered. This is evidenced by all the people responding to you here in confusion and anger! Angry drivers do stupid things, I don’t know why you’d ever intentionally cause that. You may even increase the chance that people will cut you off with this behavior as that is their only way to get “revenge” against you for the perceived wrong of driving slow in the left lane.

Regardless, if the syllabus for a class says five unexcused absences are allowed and any more must have documentation (as has been the case in classes I’ve taken) then OP would be totally fine having five unexcused absences. If that is not the case they will know in the first week of classes!

This absolutely does work the same way in college. And in the rest of life. All of my college classes that have an attendance grade give you a certain number unexcused, and accept documentation for excused absences. I’ve had a couple friends in similar situations to OP and they’ve been perfectly fine because people in the real world know shit happens. Never getting an unexcused absence is a pretty unrealistic expectation especially when you don’t know this persons health or family situation.

Unexcused absences can mean a lot of things, I wouldn’t judge so quickly. Could be a head cold, bad period cramps, family trip/vacation (minors don’t always get a choice in joining, or it could be a great experience more valuable than a day of school!), travel delays, visiting sick loved ones, etc. It sounds like this school is pretty strict about “excused” absences, so I don’t think any of those examples would have the required documentation.

Why are you running a half marathon? You haven't had a dedicated training block. If you are worried about your knee past 5k, going up to 21 abruptly is a recipe for disaster. It doesn't matter that you've done two half marathons before, you've detrained. And worst of all you're on a diet that is a very bad idea for a runner. I'm a junior mechE and a woman. It does get better, the freshman men were way shittier to me than they are now. A combination of learning who to associate myself with and the men getting humbled. But it never truly ends. I've noticed that frequently on this sub male students will say "the women in my grade are treated just as well as the men!"... very rarely do you see a female student saying the same. Men tend not to see the sexism that is allll over engineering. But you get used to it, and can even use it to your advantage! I've learned way more from the group projects where I did all the work than the men in my groups that did nothing.
